PHENIX Status 1998 - Final printing soon!

Dear PHENIX Participants,

	As most of you know, the document "PHENIX Status - July 1998"
was presented to the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) last week.
Now we are about to make 100 copies of Chapters 1, 2, and the Appendices,
which give a publication list and reprints of three recent "PHENIX 
papers".  This version (which will have a blue cover when printed) is
intended for "wide dissemination".  It will be substantially the same
as the TAC version, but before printing we are taking the opportunity
to fix a few typographical errors and other minor mistakes.

	Active PHENIX participants (who have an rhphenix account on the
RCF machines at BNL) may view the "nearly final version" of this 
document at the following URL:

(.ps) files.  If you have any trouble accessing the files, please send
me e-mail (brant@bnl.gov) and I will try to help.

	If you are at BNL, the document is also displayed in the hallway
outside my office.  Before we make the 100 copies, I invite all PHENIX
participants to read the whole document (or the parts that pertain to your
involvement)  and let me know if you find any errors.  If you do find
errors, please report them to me by e-mail before noon tomorrow.  Thanks.
