Australian-American Fulbright Commission
- Who Can Apply
- Australian students, scholars, and professionals to study, teach, lecture, and conduct research in the United States. Postgraduate, postdoctoral, senior scholar, and professional fellowships are awarded each year.

- The grantee will receive a travel entitlement, a monthly stipend for 12 months, an establishment allowance, and an excess baggage allowance.

Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts, National Gallery of Art
- Who Can Apply
- Fellowships are for full-time research, and scholars are expected to reside in Washington throughout their fellowship period and participate in the activities of the Center. One Paul Mellon Fellowship, one Frese Senior Fellowship, and between four and six Ailsa Mellon Bruce and Samuel H. Kress Senior Fellowships will be awarded for an academic year, early fall to spring. The Paul Mellon and Ailsa Mellon Bruce Senior Fellowships are intended to support research in the history, theory, and criticism of the visual arts (painting, sculpture, architecture, landscape architecture, urbanism, prints and drawings, film, photography, decorative arts, industrial design, and other arts) of any geographical area and of any period. The Samuel H. Kress Senior Fellowships are intended primarily to support research on European art prior to the early nineteenth century. The Frese Senior Fellowship is intended for study in the history, theory, criticism of sculpture, prints and drawings, and the decorative arts of any geographical area and of any period. Applications are also solicited from scholars in other disciplines whose work examine artefacts or have implications for the analysis and criticism of physical form. Senior Fellowships are awarded without regard to the age or nationality of the applicants.
- How Much
- A Senior Fellowship award normally will be limited to one-half of the applicant’s salary, up to a maximum of US$40,000, depending on individual circumstances. In addition, Senior Fellows who relocate to Washington are eligible for a housing allowance (up to US$12,000), made possible with funds from the Paul Mellon Bequest. There are also allowances for photography and for travel to a professional meeting.

Reagan-Fascell Democracy Fellowship
- Who Can Apply
- Activists, practitioners, scholars, and journalists from around the world who want to deepen their understanding of democracy and enhance their ability to promote democratic change. The program offers two tracks: a practitioner track and a scholarly track. The practitioner track has no specific degree requirement, but applicants are expected to have substantial practical experience working on behalf of some aspect of democracy building. Individuals interested in the scholarly track are expected to posses a PhD or academic equivalent at the time of application, to have published their field of expertise, and to have developed a detailed research outline for the project.

- Each fellow receives a monthly stipend for living expenses, plus health insurance and reimbursement for travel to and from Washington D.C. Fellows also receive a fully-equipped office and support services.

Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships

Scientific Visits to the United States for Young Australian Researchers
- Who Can Apply
- This award is limited to Australian citizens and permanent residents who are in their last year of a doctorate degree or have recently graduated. Proposals in any field of natural science, basic and applied, including mathematics and engineering science will be considered.

- Successful applicants will receive a grant-in-aid of up to $7,540.

UNESCO Fellowship Programme

Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research: individual research grants

Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars Fellowships
- Who Can Apply
- Men and women from any country with outstanding capabilities and experience from a wide variety of backgrounds (including government, the corporate world, and the professions, as well as academia) are eligible for appointment. For academic participants, eligibility is limited to the postdoctoral level.
- How Much
- The Center awards approximately 20-25 residential fellowships. The Center provides a stipend that includes round-trip transportation.

Young Investigator Jose Carreras Foundation EHA Fellowship
- Who Can Apply
- Candidates must hold a M.D. or PhD degree and have completed three years of postdoctoral training, but must be less than 10 years past their first doctoral degree when the award begins. There are no restrictions on nationality, but the sponsoring institution must be able to provide adequate support for the proposed project. The goals of the Foundation are to raise money for the support of research into the diagnosis, prevention, and cure of leukemia and related hematological malignancies.

Arts in Society Fellowships (Carnegie Mellon University)
- Who Can Apply
- Scholars and artists who have received their terminal degree within the last four years in any field of humanistic inquiry or artistic endeavor. The purpose of these fellowships is to provide younger scholars with free time to further their own work in a cross-disciplinary setting, to associate them with a distinguished faculty, and to allow them to contribute to an innovative humanities project recently begun at Carnegie Mellon University.

Earth Institute (Columbia University)

- The postdoctoral candidates should submit a proposal for research based in one of the core disciplines (any of the social sciences, earth sciences, biological sciences, engineering sciences and health sciences) and to be carried out at one of the Earth Institute’s research units. The proposal should indicate how the research will contribute to the goal of global sustainable development. The proposed research may represent the candidate’s novel ideas, be an extension of current activity in the field, and/or contribute directly to existing Earth Institute projects.

- Who Can Apply
- Citizens of the U.S. or any country in Asia and the Pacific who are interested in participating in the educational and research programs of the East-West Center while pursuing graduate degree study at the University of Hawaii. Fellowships are for both master’s (24 months) and doctoral (48 month) degrees.

East-West Center Jefferson Fellowships (Various Institutions)
- Who Can Apply
- A program of professional dialogue, study and overseas travel for mid-level print and broadcast journalists from the United States and the Pacific. The East-West Center plans to award Fellowships to six applicants from the United States and six from Asia and the Pacific.
- How Much
- The Center provides Fellows with economy class air transportation from their home cities to Honolulu, through the study, and return to their home cities from Jakarta. The Center also provides lodging at the East-West Center guest house in Honolulu and at moderately-priced hotels during the study tour. A per diem to cover living costs (food and incidentals) not met by the program, is provided in Honolulu and during the study tour following standard U.S. government allowances for the cities visited. The Fellows will be advised of these amounts when the awards are made.

Elizabeth Neuffer Fellowship
- Who Can Apply
- Applicant must be a woman journalist who is dedicated to a career in journalism in the print, broadcast or Internet media (freelancers are eligible to apply), committed to coverage of human rights and social justice, have three or more years of journalism experience and have excellent written and verbal English skills.
- How Much
- As a research associate in residence at the Center for International Studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellow will have access to a broad range of courses, seminars, working groups and other programs at MIT and several other area universities, including Harvard, Tufts and Boston University. She will also be encouraged to present her work to faculty and graduate students in open seminars. Depending on her qualifications and interests, the Elizabeth Neuffer Fellow may spend time at The Boston Globe or The New York Times. The companies will provide access to their networks of U.S. print and broadcast journalists and professional contacts, as well as their Boston, New York, Washington, DC, and United Nations bureaus. Expenses, including air fare and housing, will be covered.

Global Fellows Program (UCLA International Institute)
- Who Can Apply
- Candidates must hold a Ph.D.(or equivalent). Applicants may be from any discipline, provided only that their work is relevant to the concerns of the International Institute. There is no citizenship requirement. Successful applicants will be of the highest intellectual caliber and will be doing innovative work, preferably of multidisciplinary interest, on (or with obvious relevance to) the cultural, economic, social, and political dynamics of the contemporary world.

- Global Fellows will be appointed as Visiting Assistant Professors. Ledley Scholarship (University of Chicago)

Nieman Fellowship for Journalist (Harvard University)

- Candidates must have at least five years of professional experience as a journalist. Journalists working full-time or as freelancers for the news or editorial departments of newspapers, radio, television, magazines of general public interest, or online news organizations are eligible to apply. No academic prerequisites are required for application and no academic credit is given for courses taken as a Nieman Fellow. 12 International Neiman Fellows are selected.

Oak Human Rights Fellowship

Stanford Summer Fellows on Democracy and Development
- Who Can Apply

CV Starr Scholarship (Maryland Institute College of Art)
- Who Can Apply
- Candidates must be citizens of a foreign county, but may be either in the U.S. or abroad. The scholarship is in recognition of outstanding artistic ability and talent, intended for students seeking to earn their first undergraduate degree.
- How Much
- Fifteen students will be selected for this award of US$2,500 per year for four years. Each recipient should be prepared to find additional funding forapproximately US$31,500 per year for the remaining cost of attendance.

David Jacobs Scholarship (Maryland Institute College of Art)
- Who Can Apply
- Candidates must be citizens of a foreign country and be living outside the U.S. The scholarship recognizes outstanding artistic achievement and commitment to pursuing a career in the visual arts and is intended to assist international students seeking to earn their undergraduate degree that are either entering college for the first time or transferring from another college or university abroad.
- How Much
- The recipient will receive US$20,000 for each year of undergraduate study at MICA. The scholarship will be applied toward cost of tuition, fee, and book/art supplies. It is estimated that the recipient should be prepared to find funding for an additional US$14,000 per year to pay for living, personal, and transportation expenses.

Marquette University Kimberly-Clark International Scholar Award
- Who Can Apply
- For qualified undergraduate international students who will enroll at Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) for the first time to study biology, chemistry, computer science, math, business or engineering.

- US$4,000 to $6,000 (partial tuitition); renewable up to four years. Based on high academic achievement, not financial need

OSEAS Advisor Referral Scholarship (University of Evansville)
- Who Can Apply
- International students enrolled at the University of Evansville. The award will be given solely on the basis of the recommendation from a U.S. Educational Advisor and admissibility to the University.
- How Much
- US$48,000 (US$12,000 for four years). In addition, five full tuition awards will be offered to especially deserving nominees.

Purple and Gold Scholarship (University of Northern Iowa)
- Who Can Apply
- International students who successfully complete a college preparatory curriculum in high school; take the TOEFL(Test Of English As Foreign Language) and qualify with a score of 550 or above and then are admitted unconditionally to the University.
- How Much
- Students living on campus may accept the US$4,000 Purple & Gold Scholarship. Students living off-campus may accept the US$2,000 Purple & Gold Scholarship.
- Deadline
- Once your application is received, and you have been admitted to the University, you will automatically be considered for the Purple & Gold Scholarship. Expect to be notified of your selection approximately seven to ten days after you are admitted.
St. Mary’s College International Student Honors Scholarship

College of St. Catherine
30 International Student Undergraduate Scholarships ranging from US$4,000 - US$12,500 will be awarded upon admission. They are renewable annually.
www.lvc.eduLebanon Valley College
Lebanon Valley College is very interested in enrolling international students and offers a grant of one-third tuition to citizens of other countries. Outstanding students will be considered for a limited number of US$2,000 and US$3,000 scholarships. Scholarships are renewable for up to eight semesters. Qualified students may receive both the Grant and the Scholarship.
Macalester College
Each year over 200 students from more than 80 countries receive Kofi Annan International Scholarships to study at Macalester College in the natural sciences, mathematics, social sciences, humanities, and fine arts.
Whitman College
In a typical year the college offers 15 scholarships from a pool of approximately 175 international applicants. They are awarded to the top 15 applicants based upon their academic and extra curricular achievements in secondary school. They do not regularly offer international scholarships to transfer students.
