Features and Keys to Cap Positions in Puck Lids |
Puck Lid Features |
![]() |
The puck lid contains 16 cap wells arranged in two circles. The center pin (CP) has a flat oriented towards the #1 cap well. In the robot dewar the flat always faces outwards. The casette key way (CKW) is a semicircular cutout that angularly orients puck and lid when loaded into the dewar. In the dewar it always faces to its center. LP is the hole that accommodates the puck locking pin when pucks are secured in a puck cane for shipping or cold storage. C are the puck retaining clips that fasten the lid to the puck when the two are assembled on loading and unloading of pucks into the dewar. |
Cap Well Numbering |
![]() |
The cap wells in a lid are numbered as shown. The numbering is
consitent with the engravings in the pucks. See the
Puck Loading Key
for details. Note 1: For use in automounter protocols the numbers are preceeded by the casette position that holds a lid: A, B, C, and D. See the Dewar Loading Key for details. Note 2: For use in dewar positioning via the 'Galil' device and via cbass the cap positions in the dewar are numbered sequentially 1 thru 65. See the Dewar Positioning Key for details. |
