| Abstract:
|
The author's basic point is that people seeking spiritual fulfillment in drugs or occultism discover that the experience can be very dangerous, in addition to lacking any of the peace and love so familiar to those who follow Christ. The author begins his story with the death of his father, which left him an orphan at the age of 11. His adolescence was marked by unhappy domestic experiences, and experimentation with a variety of drugs. He joined a cult, but was eventually expelled from the Satanist High Priesthood. He joined the U.S. Navy and became a combat corpsman with the U.S. Marines. He served 6 months in Vietnam as a medic, was wounded twice and received eight service medals. Upon his return to America, he reenlisted in the Navy and became a certified cardiopulmonary technician. He received an early discharge from the Navy to devote full time effort to his San Diego-based, anti-occult counseling work known as Alpha Omega Outreach.
