The Equal Opportunity Programs Office (EOPO) and the Equal Accessibility Advisory Committee (EAAC) greatly appreciate the tireless work of Lynn B. Clark, Code 210M, [who is now enjoying a well-deserved retirement] who was the inspiration for this page and, for many years, prepared most of the Construction Notices and Traversing Access Alerts that were posted on the List Serve For People With Disabilities.

  • Building 8 Roof Replacement

    Building 8 Roof Replacement: The main roof above the 6th floor of Building 008 will be replaced starting Monday, 6/9/08, with safety procedures being put in place first prior to any demolition/roofing work. This project is expected to take 5 – 6 weeks to complete. There will be intermittent crane activity restricting the sidewalk and one side of the driveway running from building 12 to the building 8 loading dock.

    The loading dock, Melwood dumpster & vehicle turn-around area will remain accessible. It will be necessary to close the sidewalk periodically while material/debris is being hoisted to/from the roof. The Facilities Management Division appreciates your patience while repairs to the roofing system are being made. For questions about this project, please call John Gauthier x6-1161.


    Sidewalk Repairs Centerwide

    The following areas will have some pedestrian barriers due to sidewalk repairs:

    PLEASE NOTE:

    June 4 - June 6, 2008

    The following sidewalks/driveways around Building 7 will be closed for repairs: The sidewalk on the west side of the building. Individuals can use the front accessible entrance on the south side of the buidlding.

    June 6 - June 10, 2008

    The following sidewalks around Building 7 will be closed for repairs: The sidewalk parallel to Trioa Rd., west of the building.

    June 9 - June 20, 2008

    The front circle will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles. Individuals with disabilities may use existing and temporary designated parking spaces; and use the accessible entrance on the northwest side of the building.


    Future Sidewalk Repairs

    Future major projects for sidewalk repairs will be around Building 5, the patio at the cafeteria entrance to Building 21, and the trailers (T-29) behind Building 29. In addition, spot work will be performed around Buildings 30, 9, and 3.
