“Let’s Go Outside!” Explorer Backpacks

Let’s Go Outside!” backpacks are available for use on site during Open Houses at the Humbug Marsh Unit. The backpacks contain activities geared towards children ages 6-12 including binoculars, a journal, a bug jar, and much more.

Backpacks can be checked out with an adult’s driver’s license and returned at the end of the visit.

 

The Jr. Birder Program

The Jr. Birder Program is a fun way for kids to learn about birds and how to protect them. This patch program is available in two forms, one for kids ages 9-12 and another for kids ages 5-8.

The program contains activities that can be completed on-site and at home.

The program will be available at Humbug Marsh Unit Open Houses. Once completed, the program can be mailed to the refuge for the Jr. Birder Patch. For more information call 734-692-7649.
