In 2007, 14.4 percent of the males arrested were under the age of 18; another 29.5 percent were between the ages of 18 and 24.
Adults (individuals 18 years of age and older) accounted for 83.6 percent of the males arrested for violent crimes and 74.5 percent of the males arrested for property crimes.
Juveniles (persons under age 18) comprised 49.6 percent of the males arrested for arson offenses, 27.8 percent of the males arrested for robbery offenses, 25.4 percent of the males arrested for motor vehicle theft offenses, and 24.2 percent of the males arrested for larceny-theft offenses.
Adult males were most often arrested for drug abuse violations, accounting for 89.0 percent of all males arrested for these crimes.
