Planetary Flight Book Jacket: March 26 to April 26, 2001
Contest Description:
This contest invites students to create a book jacket for a novel about
planetary flight.
Directions:
Design a book jacket (cover) for a novel about planetary flight. The book
jacket should include the title, author, and illustration on the cover.
The binding should include the title of your story and the author's name.
The back of the jacket should include a brief description about the characters,
setting, and plot of the story. Remember that the description is to hook
the readers in to wanting to read the entire novel. Along with the description,
the back cover should also include quotes from book reviewers. Have fun
and be creative using the information that you have learned from the Planetary
Flight Website. Your book jacket should be no larger than 11"x8 1/2".
You may submit your book jacket in the following way:

Planetary Flight Gameboard: April 27 - May 18, 2001
Contest Description:
This contest invites students to design a game board about Planetary Flight.
Direction:
Design and create a game using information that you have learned from
the Planetary Flight Web Site. The game should include a game board and
directions for how to play the game. Use your imagination and be creative!
Your game board should be no larger than 2'x2'.

Planetary Flight Newspaper: May 19 - June 8, 2001
Contest Description:
This contest invites students to create a front page of a newspaper using
facts that they have learned from the Planetary Flight Web Site.
Directions:
For all of you budding reporters, this contest is for you! Design the
front page of a newspaper about Planetary Flight. Include the title of
the newspaper, the headline with the feature story and picture, an editorial,
an advertisement, and any other pieces that you would like to include
in your paper. Don't forget to check your facts, a good reporter always
makes sure that their stories are accurate. Have fun and be creative!
The newspaper should be no larger than 9"x12".
