Annotation: The report presents State Uniform Crime Reporting Statistics on Index offenses reported in Nebraska during 1980, as well as State crime trends during 1976-80 and offense/arrest data by county.
Abstract: Index offenses covered include murder and manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, assault, burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. Statistics describe offenders and victims by age, sex, and race and note the value of property stolen and recovered. Data also cover the number of officers killed and assaulted and law enforcement employee information. The report includes a description of the Uniform Crime Reporting Program. It indicates a rise in Index offenses of 22 percent since 1976. Tables and graphs form the bulk of the report.
