Bjørn Clausen

Research Interests and Experience


In-situ internal and residual strain measurements using neutron diffraction. Modeling of polycrystal deformation using self-consistent models. Development of polycrystal deformation models for predicting internal and residual stresses/strains in polycrystalline materials. Validating polycrystal deformation models using diffraction measurements of elastic lattice strains and texture development. Employing polycrystal deformation models and finite element models to interpret diffraction measurement results and determine microstructural/mechanical property relationship.
