The inland boundary follows the political boundaries of the following counties: the state line with North Carolina from Virginia Beach through Suffolk county, then the line travels north along the Isle of Wight, Surry, Prince George, the municipality of Petersburg, Chesterfield, Henrico, Hanover, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Prince William and Fairfax counties. The line then extends along the Maryland border from Fairfax county south to the Chesapeake Bay then across the bay along the Acconack county border.ÝThe seaward boundary is the three nautical mile limit.
