THE SPDS DIRECTORY IN THE NSSDC ANONYMOUS ACCOUNT

The [SPDS] directory will contain items relevant to the creation of the Space 
Physics Data System (SPDS). The present focus is on identifying valuable data 
sets which have not yet been archived or which are in need of restoration. 

Software for putting SAI MAF images from DE-1 into CDFs may be found in the 
[DE_SAI] subdirectory.

IDENTIFYING ALREADY-KNOWN DATA SETS

     Known data sets, at the NSSDC or elsewhere, are included in the NASA
Master Directory (MD) at the NSSDC.  The MD is menu-driven on a VAX or VAX-
emulating computer terminal, and there is no charge in using this facility. 
You may consult it to see if your data set is included by selecting the MD from
the Main Menu in the NODIS account. To access NODIS:

Via DECnet:		$ SET HOST NSSDCA
Via anonymous ftp:	$ ftp nssdca.gsfc.nasa.gov
Enter at the prompt for userid:  NODIS
No password is required. You will be asked to supply your name, and be 
presented with a menu. In addition to the MD, Item 14 includes an announcement 
to the space physics community.

In addition, a list of all magnetospheric spacecraft and experiments may be
found in this directory, named MAGNETO_EXP.LIST.  ITM_EXP.LIST is a similar
list for ionospheric-thermospheric-mesospheric (ITM) spacecraft and
experiments. The lists itemize the NSSDC holdings for each experiment, as well.

MD or in the Experiment List, please respond with information about it to:
