The geographic limit of each play was defi ned and mapped~}0by the geologist responsible for each province. The play bounda ries were define~}0d geologically as the limits of the geologic elements that de fine the play, suc~}0h as the limits of the reservoir rock, geologic structures, source rock, and se~}0al lithologies. The only exceptions to this are plays tha t border the Federal-S~}0tate water boundary. In these cases, the Federal-State water boundary forms par~}0t of the play boundary. The play boundaries were de fined in the period 1993-19~}194.~}0 The purpose of these files is to illustrate the geologic boundary o~}0f the play as defined for the 1995 U.S. National Assessment.
