       Date Removed : (yyyy-mm-dd)
Additional Information : The telescope is a fixed, north
facing refractor. There is a flat pointing
mirror (or beam director) that is mounted
in a gimbal that is positioned in both
axes (Az/El). The flat mirror is the "coelostat".
This configuration is like no other telescope
in the network. It is not really a coelostat
either since they usually have two flat mirrors
with the coelostat mirror fixed in one axis.
That is why this device was named the "lunastat"
by the folks who built this observatory. It has
                                    different properties from telescopes mounted
in AZ/EL or X/Y mounts. The most important
difference is that there are no problems tracking
through zenith. Our tracking difficulties happen
when we are pointing low in the north. The flat
mirror is in a AZ-EL mount. But that is not our
telescope. Its just a flat reflecting mirror.
The telescope is in a "fixed" mount.
