Correlation of immune status with clinical status.

OBJECTIVE: To correlate the immune status of prostitute women with their clinical presentation. METHODS: EDTA anticoagulated whole blood was obtained and stained by the double monoclonal antibody staining technique using the T-helper/suppressor reagent and analysed on a FACScan cytometer using simulset software (Beckton-Dickinson). RESULTS: The absolute T-helper cell counts and ratios were recorded as below: TABULAR DATA, SEE ABSTRACT VOLUME. Note: Isq Test = chi-squared test for trend CONCLUSION: A significant trend (P less than 0.0001 chi-squared test for trend) was noted when clinical status was compared to absolute counts and CD4/CD8 ratios.
