NASA has been informed by the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) that they have decided to delay the ADEOS-II launch until the second half of the next Japanese fiscal year (October 2002 - March 2003). This sets a target date for launch of ADEOS-II for no earlier than November 2002. NASDA and the Japanese Space Activities Commission (SAC) want to have 3 successful H-IIA rocket launches prior to launch of ADEOS-II. The SeaWinds Project is interacting with the Japanese on testing and storage plans. The SeaWinds antenna subsystem will likely be removed and stored under nitrogen purge.
