Hi Matthew,

I see that nifti_image_read() doesn't get called down that
code path, sorry. If you used -disp_ext, it would:

nifti_tool -debug 2 -disp_ext -infiles dset.nii.gz

At any rate, zlib is not linked in the linux_glibc22 set
of binaries.

If you are comfortable compiling from source, that would
be good.

The basic steps for compiling would be as follows. Note
that binaries are moved into your home abin directory at
the end (if that is appropriate).

wget http://afni.nimh.nih.gov/pub/dist/tgz/afni_src.tgz
tar xfz afni_src.tgz
cd afni_src
make -f Makefile.linux_glibc22 totality
mv linux_glibc22/* ~/abin
------------------------------------------------------------

If this is a major difficulty, I can probably build a
package with zlib.
