SUBJECT: Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons
Summary: The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has removed one entry and added several entries to its list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons.

On July 13, 2004, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) removed one entry from its list of Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons (SDNs) and added three entries. The removed and added entries are listed below.

The following entry has been removed:

  • CONTINUITY IRA (CIRA); United Kingdom [SDGT]

It was replaced with the following three new entries:

  • CONTINUITY ARMY COUNCIL (a.k.a. CONTINUITY IRA (CIRA); a.k.a. CONTINUITY IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY; a.k.a. REPUBLICAN SINN FEIN); United Kingdom (SDGT)(FTO)
  • CONTINUITY IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY (a.k.a. CONTINUITY ARMY COUNCIL; a.k.a. CONTINUITY IRA (CIRA); a.k.a. REPUBLICAN SINN FEIN); United Kingdom (SDGT)(FTO)
  • REPUBLICAN SINN FEIN (a.k.a. CONTINUITY ARMY COUNCIL; a.k.a. CONTINUITY IRA (CIRA); a.k.a. CONTINUITY IRISH REPUBLICAN ARMY); United Kingdom (SDGT)(FTO)

OFAC has asked that we distribute the information to all FDIC-supervised institutions so records can be checked for accounts that are required to be blocked. OFAC information also may be found on the Internet at http://www.treas.gov/offices/enforcement/ofac/.

Please distribute this information to the appropriate personnel in your institution. For further information about Executive Orders, the list of blocked accounts or the procedures to block accounts, please calls OFAC’s Compliance Programs Division at 1-800-540-6322.
