APRS Database

The on-line database of APRS records for a plant species can be accessed by location from each weed species page. In addition to accessing the on-line database of APRS records from each weed specie page, you can download the complete Microsoft Access database file by clicking on Download below.

These ACCESS databases contain APRS scores for many of the non-native plant species found in the Southwest US. The scores for I. Site Characteristics (current impacts) vary from site to site and thus must be determined through evaluation of each site. However, the scores for II. Species Characteristics (innate ability of species to be a pest) and III. Difficulty of Control may vary little from site to site and thus can be used for any site being evaluated.

The APRS database is a compilation of APRS records from locations around the U.S.A. Each record in this database is based on information entered by a previous APRS user. A record in the database includes the following information:

Symbol – the abbreviated code for the species name.
Scientific – the specific epithet for the species.
Common – the common name of the species.
Subspp- the subspecies information.
Location – the location from which the APRS record came.
1-23 – the answers to APRS questions 1 –23.

These records have not been checked for accuracy, and may not necessarily be applicable to all regions.
