Here, acorn woodpeckers comically toil and California condors and peregrine falcons wheel in the sky above. Elephant seals come here to breed, but for a few unlucky pups, there is no escape from the violence of a fierce winter storm. Sunset and moonrise open a door into an alien underwater world, and a new dawn inspires a sense that the world around us is alive and thriving in a Living Eden called Big Sur.
