In matters prosecuted by the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of West Virginia:

ROANE COUNTY RESIDENT SENTENCED ON FEDERAL DRUG CHARGE

Huntington, WV – JAMES FACEMYER, 66, of Newton, WV, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers to 46 months in prison for possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of methamphetamine. FACEMYER previously pled guilty to the charge in May.

The conviction stems from a drug investigation conducted by the US Drug Enforcement Administration. In February and March 2004, Task Force agents made undercover purchases of approximately one ounce of methamphetamine from FACEMYER and Cheryl Metheny. Metheney was previously sentenced on July 17, 2006, to 37 months in prison for her criminal conduct.

The Roane County Sheriff's Department and the West Virginia State Police assisted the DEA in the investigation.

KENTUCKY MAN SENTENCED TO OVER TWO YEARS FOR POSSESSING CONTRABAND WHILE CONFINED AT FCI-BECKLEY

Beckley, WV – JEFF OLIVER, 38, of Compton, Kentucky, was sentenced by United States District Judge Thomas E. Johnston to 28 months of imprisonment for possession of contraband in a federal prison. OLIVER previously pled guilty this past July, admitting that on March 5, 2006, he possessed methadone pills at FCI Beckley's federal prison camp. Bureau of Prison staff discovered the pills in OLIVER'S shoe during a search. At the time of the incident, OLIVER was serving a 54-month sentence for conspiracy to distribute 500 grams or more of methamphetamine.

The US Bureau of Prisons conducted the investigation. Assistant United States Attorney John L. File handled the prosecution.
