CBP Border Patrol Agents Arrest 8 “Surenos 13” Gang Members

contacts for this news releaseDetroit, MI. — U.S. Customs and Border Protection Border Patrol agents from the Detroit station were called to a traffic stop by the Detroit Police department Saturday. At the stop, CBP Border Patrol agents discovered eight illegal aliens from Mexico in a mini van. Upon questioning, the aliens admitted to being members of the “Surenos 13” gang. The Detroit police also recovered a loaded, black pistol grip, 12-gauge shotgun and an additional six rounds of ammunition in the mini van.All eight undocumented illegal aliens were released by the Detroit Police department and turned over to the Detroit Border Patrol. All eight individuals were processed for removal back to Mexico.U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control, and protection of our Nation’s borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
