International Partner Search (IPS)

Objective

The International Partner Search (IPS) is designed to help companies explore foreign markets and find local partners. Specifically, the IPS will identify prescreened overseas agents, distributors, manufacturer’s representatives, joint venture partners, licensees, franchisees, or strategic partners. The number of contacts depends upon market potential, but on average we will identify 3-5 contacts.

Deliverables

  • An IPS report includes the names and addresses, including e-mail and/or web site addresses, of prospective overseas companies or representatives, and the name and title of the key contact person(s) at each overseas company and their telephone number, fax and email addresses.
  • The customer is provided basic information about each contact, such as the size of the company and the number of years the overseas company has been in business. The client is advised regarding the language preferred by the overseas company for correspondence.
  • The Commercial Office Specialist will work to ascertain the contacts’ levels of interest in the customer’s company and the overall suitability of the identified companies and/or representatives. The customer will also receive comments from the potential partner on the customer’ firm and product.
  • A mid-term report will be provided to the customer for review to ensure that we are meeting the customer’s expectations. The report will also include the contact information on each overseas company or representative contacted.
  • Standard delivery time is 30 business days from receipt of payment and product literature, and an expedited service may be available for an additional fee. If there is a delay of the report for unforeseen reasons, the Commercial Specialist will contact the customer and negotiate a new delivery date.

Price

The customer can place the order for an IPS service through a United States Trade Representative (USTR) outside Yemen. The fee for an IPS report is USD 500. Note that price varies if search is conducted for multiple geographic areas and products. The U.S. Commercial Office in Yemen will proceed with the IPS report once the payment is confirmed by a USTR and the product literature and supporting materials are received by the Commercial Office in Yemen.

Commercial Office Responsibilities
