Abstract |
Some researchers retrieve EAST experiment data by wireless LAN. High error rate in wireless links causes TCP to suffer a significant degradation in performance. Mobile hosts have first-hand knowledge of the wireless links. Therefore, mobile stations can make better control based on the status of wireless link. In the paper, we propose a mobile-host-centric transport protocol (MCP) that shifts most control policies to the mobile host side. MCP is like TCP in its general behavior, but allows for better congestion control and loss recovery in wireless networks. The simulation and test results show that MCP can have better performance than TCP in wireless environment. |
