MYRICK CONGRATULATES FBI AGENT CLIFFORD

(Washington, D.C.) – On Wednesday, June 16, 2004, Representative Sue Myrick met with FBI Supervisory Special Agent Robert F. Clifford, of Charlotte, NC, at a Congressional luncheon.  Special Agent Clifford was at the luncheon to be recognized as one of 28 federal employees, nationwide, who is in the running for a 2004 Service to America Medal.

The Service to America Medals is a national awards program to honor the finest achievements of federal employees.  From the 28 finalists, eight Service to America Medals awardees will be selected.  The awardees will be announced on September 28th at a black-tie ceremony in Washington, DC.

Special Agent Clifford was selected to receive this honor because he led the investigation that resulted in the conviction of more than a dozen leaders of the “November 17” Group – Europe’s most notorious and elusive terrorist group.  Rep. Myrick was on hand to congratulate him on this great honor, and to thank him for his outstanding service to the nation.
