IPN Orsay (IN2P3/CNRS and Postdoctoral Position A two years postdoctoral position will be opened during the
second semester of 2008 at IPN Orsay (IN2P3/CNRS and application. The candidate will work on the goal of the Plasma. The IPNO ALICE team took a major role in the
construction of the muon spectrometer: in charge of the Front-End and readout
electronics for the whole tracking system (from the design to the production) and its
associated software full construction of the first tracking station coordination
of the muon spectrometer software in AliRoot. The IPNO team also plays a
leading role in the study of the gluon PDF saturation models (Color Glass
Condensate) with the muon spectrometer in collaboration with theoreticians.
Another topic of interest lies in the quarkonia analysis, related to the
expertise obtained from our participation to the NA50 experiment. The candidate
will first work on the first data taking and on the calibration of the muon
spectrometer. He will have also to participate actively in the first Physics
analysis and to the publication of these results together with their
presentation in conferences. Data taking periods and collaboration with the
other laboratories involved in the muon spectrometer will demand frequent
travels to CERN. A recent PhD in Nuclear or Particle Physics as well as a
strong knowledge in C++ and in English are required. Applicants should send a
curriculum vitae (including a publications list with a clear indication of
publications made as principal author) by mail to : Bruno Espagnon 15 rue Georges Clémenceau 91406 Orsay (France) Bruno.Espagnon@cern.ch Closing date for applications is February 17th 2008. |
