SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AMENDMENT: **This amendment is to reflect the changes for this sources sought notice previously posted on 28 Feb 08.** The Vehicle Operations and Maintenance requirement is being separated into two requirements, Vehicle Maintenance and Vehicle Transportation. This notice is to identify sources that can perform vehicle maintenance services (Not a Pre-solicitation notice pursuant to FAR Part 5). Results will be used to aid the 37th Logistics Readiness Squadron in identifying market availability to attain all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, supervision, and other items and services necessary to manage and perform vehicle maintenance at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio Texas and all tenant organizations. The vehicle fleet currently consists of approximately 400 USAF owned vehicles. Costs associated with the accomplishment of this contract are the responsibility of the contractor. The primary tasks is for Vehicle Maintenance services which shall be provided in accordance with AFPD 24-3 and AFI 23-302 and all applicable manuals and directives. Hours of operation shall be Monday through Friday, 0700 to 1600 hours daily, except holidays and weekends. After duty hours a stand-by mechanic shall be provided to accomplish maintenance, repair or start vehicles and equipment that is immobile or inoperable. Vehicle Maintenance: Responsible for parts labor, tools, and equipment required to maintain the USAF owned vehicle fleet in accordance with the standards established in Technical Order 36-1-191 and applicable vehicle technical orders. Vehicles released from vehicle maintenance shall meet the standards delineated in the aforementioned technical orders. Maintenance required beyond the contractor’s capabilities shall be acquired and paid for by the contractor at no additional cost to the government. The 37th Contracting Squadron (37 CONS), Lackland AFB, Texas anticipates a requirement for a vehicle maintenance contract. The contractor shall ensure that all vehicles in the fleet are kept in serviceable conditions. The anticipated contract type is a requirements contract, with a base period and four (4) option periods. The duration of the contract, to include all options, is anticipated to be five (5) years. The NAICS code for this project is expected to be 811111 with a $6.5 million size standard. Small business concerns should also refer to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 9.6 Contractor Team Arrangements, and FAR 19.1 Size Standards. Based on the outlined requirement, is your company interested and capable of providing this service? This survey is to determine the capability of potential sources and the availability of commercial sources and services pursuant to FAR Part 10.
