INDEX.1. First Man and Woman.2. The place where the fallen angel settled is the land of Nod, or isles, and the starting point of the Gentiles.3. The starting point of the black people and the name Jew, or the Ist and 2nd Jews.4. God is the owner of the land, and the horses, and animals, and all of the fowls; and merchandising is wrong according to the scripture; and laying up of treasures on earth is wrong.5. I believe it is wrong for any Christian to drink wine or strong drinks, in the church or out, and water ought to be used in the Lord's supper. Tobacco using and snuff dipping I think is too dirty a thing for Christians.6. There is no such thing as praying to repent, scriptural, but it is repent and pray. I don't believe that God will hear sinner's prayers, and Christ did not tell the Apostles to tell sinners to pray.7. Where sin begun, and what sin is, and how people can get rid of their sin.8. It is not hard to be pure, and we cannot be Christians without being pure and righteous.9. Love God, love your neighbors, (or your brothers and sisters in Christ) and love your enemies. These are the three chief objects in Christianity.10. We, the Christian family, are all one in Christ Jesus and there is no difference. Faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, Godliness, brotherly kindness and charity.11. The Church of the Living God is the right church, and all members of said church ought to have their feet washed in the church.

0005

12. Don't use vain words in praying; damnation is threatened on long prayers. Christ told us what to pray.13. There is no such thing as getting religion, neither is there any such thing as religion getting us. According to the teachings of James, religion is something to do and not something to get. Then let us do religion.14. What men and women are when they commit adultery, according to the Holy Bible. Don't fear men, but fear God.15. People who are free. Sprinkling or pouring, or born of water.16. The earth is not round and the sun moves, according to our Bible.17. Funeral, Marriage, Sabbath day.18. To the infidel, who believes there is no God.

PREFACE.

Free Mason religion is the true mode of religion. All other modes of religion are not worth one cent. And J lights H, and H lights D's and D's gains S's and turns them to C's.Three important questions: First is, search the scripture; second is, obey God rather than men; third is, don't add nor take away.

The scriptures I am using to stand on to find all of these things are these: St. John 5 ch. 39 v. Here I get the word search. Acts 5 ch. 29 v.; here I am told we ought to obey God rather than men. Rev. 22 ch., 18-19 vs. tells us not to add to the word of God and not to take away any. My subject in this case is, Is the Bible Right?

0007

CHAPTER I.Discussion of the first man and woman: God said let us make man, Gen. 1 chap., 26 v. God spoke of creating a man, but when the act was performed there was a woman created also, Gen. 1 chap. 27 v., so God blessed this man and woman and told them to replenish the earth and have dominion. Gen. Ist chap., 28th verse. Remember, God told this man and woman to multiply. And here are the first generations, Gen. 2 chap., 4 v., which certainly is the increase of the first man and woman. I believe this first man's name was Melchizedek, Gen. 14 chap., 18 v. This chapter and verse shows that Melchizedek was a priest of the Most High God, and God gave the first man the dominion, which shows that he was God's priest, and this would prove that Melchizedek and the first man are the same man, if the Bible is true. Some people say that Melchizedek was God Almighty, but he could not have been because he was God. Almighty priest. Gen. 14th chap. 18th v. Others say he was Adam. He certainly could not have been, because Adam lived 930 years and died, Gen. 5. chap. 5 v., and Apostle Paul gave us to know that this man (Melchisedec) had neither beginning of days nor ending of life, Hebrews, 7th chap., 1-4 v. This would show that Melchisedec came out of the hidden of God like Christ did, and I believe I am right, because Christ was on the order of Melchizedek, 110 Psalm and 4 v., and remember Paul gave us to understand that this Melchizedek was made like unto the Son of God, abideth a priest continually, Heb. 7 chap. 3 v. I understand the first man or Melchizedek and his wife to live in the part of the world known as heaven or firmanent, Gen. I chap. 8 v. And the first generation known as the generation of the heaven and earth, which shows that the increase started at a place known as heaven and spreaded until they inhabited a part known as the face of the earth, the reason I say there were people living in heaven or in the part of the earth known as heaven. At one time Joshua and Israel fought their enemies around the mountain and the Lord threw rocks from heaven and killed more of the enemies than Joshua and Israel slew 00082with the sword. josh 10 chap ., II v. I don't understand this heaven to be the heaven where the Supreme God stays, but a high mountainous country that God named heaven, and I understand that the God which was in this heaven to be the priest of the Most High God. It is a fact that some people lived in some heaven or other, because when the angel were searching they said there were no man in heaven worthy, Rev. 5 chap., 3 v. and I believe those people that Abraham fed under the tree, came from this land as heaven. They must have been natural people because Abraham gave them dinner out of a calf, milk, butter and bread, Gen. 18 chap., 3-8 v. What makes me believe they were natural people was they went to Lot's house and stayed all night, Gen. 19 chap., 1-11 v. and also the two angels hastened Lot and his family out of the city next morning, Gen. 19 chap., 15, 16 v. People make a miration at me for saying angels have been on earth. Apostle Paul spoke of them as natural human. Heb. 13 chap., 2 v., and I believe it is right because Christ gives us to know if we do the will of his father that we are his brothers and sisters, Matt. 12 chap. 50 v. Yet we are humans, but we are humans in a high life in God and Christ. Let us all watch the Bible more closely in the future than we have in the past and obey its teaching more closely."A charge to keep I have,"A God to glorify."

CHAPTER II.When Satan and the disobedient angels fell from heaven they settled on the earth, Job 1 chap., 6-12 v., Job 2 chap., 1-6 v., Rev. 12 chap. 7-9 v, and I find the devil in the wilderness at the time Christ fasted forty days and forty nights, Matt. 4 chap., 3 v., Luke 4 chap., 3 v., and I claim that the Gentiles are the increase of the fallen angels. The first place I find the Gentiles is on the isle, Gen. 10 chap., 5 v., and the Bible don't show that the Gentile came from either one of Noah's son's and this would lead me to believe that the Gentiles came from the fallen angels, and the fallen angels came from heaven or 00093the land of heaven, and Melchizedek is the father of that country, or in other words, Melchizedek is the first man God created and told him to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth if I understand it, and these fallen angels settled on the seaside on an island or isles. The isles, according to the Bible, is certainly the starting-point of the Gentiles, Jer. 25 chap. 22 v., 72 Psalms, 10 v. These kings of Tarshish and of the isles were certainly wicked kings. Readers, I will try and make this plain so it will make light give light to all who read it. This land of Tarshish was certainly the Gentile's country if I understand it. Isiah 60 chap., 9 v. Gentlemen it is a fact according to the Bible that the Gentiles did live on the sea coast, if the Bible is true. Isiah prophesied of the Gentiles being in darkness, Isiah, 9 chap., 1, 2 v., Isiah, 42 chapter 6, 7 v. Now Christ himself speaks of what Isiah prophesied and speaks of the Gentiles being in darkness, Matt., 4 chap., 14 to 16 v. Then Jesus began to preach telling them to repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand, Matt. 4 chap., 17 v. Gentiles, Christ is your light and you had better follow him, Luke, 2 chap., 32 v. Gentiles you must remember that your forefathers were in a bad fix without God or Christ, Eph., 2 chap. 11 to 22 v. And often when the Bible speaks of isles or wilderness it is referring to the Gentiles' country, if I understand it. One time Christ spoke to the people and said: "Whither I go, ye cannot come," and the Jews conceived in their minds at once that he was speaking of going to the Gentiles, St. John, 7 chap. 33 to 35 v. This leads me to believe that the Gentiles' land was a country which the Jews was not allowed or did not visit there, and looking at John, the 7 chap., 35 v., we see plainly those people were called dispersed and they being Gentiles shows that the land where they lived was called Nod. It seem to me, when John, the greater apostle, was cast out in an isle, Rev. 1 chap. 9 v. it was for preaching the word of God, and this isle was inhabited (if I understand myself) by the Gentiles or white people or Caucasians, and John preached on the isles and many of them were converted, I believe. I will suffer correction 00104if I am wrong with Bible proof, but I am not taking your naked word for anything, and the Gentiles ought to be a quiet and good people, for they were first put in favor with God after the resurrection of Christ and the gospel preached by the Apostles, Acts, 10 chap., 34-45 v. I trust this lesson wrote concerning the Gentiles or white people will prove a blessing among all races."Am I a soldier of the cross,"A follower of the lamb?"

CHAPTER III.The starting point of the black people (or the Etheopean or the black Jew): To start with Adam was made out of the dust, Gen., 2 chap., 7 v. I will run a straight line from Adam to Christ in search of the black people scriptural. And Adam begot Cain and Abel, Gen. 4 chap. 1, 2 v.; Cain killed Abel, Gen., 4 chap., 8 v. Then the Lord called Cain in question about his brother, and the Lord pronounced a curse on Cain, and Cain spoke as the Lord had driven him from the face of the earth, Gen., 4 chap. 14 v., and the way Cain spoke here it goes to show there were some one else besides his mother, father and dead brother because he said everyone that find him would seek to slay him, Gen., 4 chap., 14 v. Now Cain went out from the presence of the Lord and dwelt in the land of Nod, and this land of Nod is where Cain knew his wife, Gen., 4 chap., 16, 17 v., and this land of Nod is where the fallen angels settled if I understand the Bible, who afterward were called Gentiles and are now called Caucasians or white people. Now we will move on with a straight line to the black people. Adam begat Seth, Gen., 4 chap., 25 v., Gen., 5 chap. 3 v., and Seth begat Enos, Gen., 5 ch. 6 v, and Enos begat Canaan, Gen. 5 chap. 9 v, and Canaan begat Mahalaleel, Gen., 5 chap. 12 v., and Mahalaleel begat Jared, Gen. 5 chap., 15 v., and Jared begat Enoch, Gen. 5 chap. 18 v., and Enoch begat Methuselah, Gen., 5 chap., 22 v., and Methuselah begat Lamech, Gen., 5 chap., 25 v., and Lamech begat Noah, Gen., 5 chap., 28, 29 v., and Noah begat Shem, Gen., 5 chap., 32 v., and Shem begat Arphaxad, Gen. 11 chap., 0011510 v., and Arphaxad begat Salah, Gen., 11 chap., 12 v., and Salah begat Eber, Gen., 11 chap., 14 v., and Eber begat Peleg, Gen. 11 chap., 16 v., and Peleg begat Reu, Gen. 11 chap., 18 v., and Reu begat Serug, Gen. 11 chap. 20 v., and Serug begat Nahor, Gen., 11 chap. 22 v., and Nahor begat Terah, Gen. 11 chap., 24 v., and Terah begat Abram, Gen., 11 chap., 26, 27 v. Abram's name is changed here from Abram to Abraham, Gen., 17 chap., 5 v., and Abraham, by obeying God got a promise of a blessing through him on all nations, Gen., 22 chap., 18 v., and Abraham begat Isaac and Isaac begat Jacob and Jacob begat Judas, St. Matt., 1 chap., 2 v., and Judas begat Phares, and Phares begat Esrom and Esrom begat Aram, St. Matt., 1 chap., 3 v., and Aram begat Aminadab and Aminadab begat Naasson, and Naasson, begat Salmon, St. Matt. 1 chap 4 v., and Salmon begat Booz and Booz begat Obed and Obed begat Jesse, Matt., 1 chap., 5 v., and this man Jesse was an Ephrathite, 1 Sam., 17 chap., 12 v., which I say means black. David was Jesse's son and he was like a bottle in the smoke which shows that he must have been pretty black, 119 Psalm, 83 v, and David begat Solomon, and Solomon said in plain words that he was black, Song of Solomon, 1 chap., 5-6 v., and Solomon begat Roboam and Roboam begat Abia and Abia begat Asa, Matt., 1 chap., 7 v., and Asa begat Josaphat and Josaphat begat Joram and Joram begat Ozias, Matt., 1 chap., 8 v., and Ozias begat Joatham and Joatham begat Achaz and Achaz begat Ezekias, Matt., 1 chap., 9 v., and Ezekias begat Manasses and Manasses begat Amon and Amon begat Josias, Matt., 1 chap., 10 v., and Josias begat Jechonias, Matt., 1 chap., 11 v., and Jechonias begat Salathiel and Salathiel begat Zorobabel, Matt. 1 chap., 12 v., and Zorobabel begat Abiud and Abiud begat Eliakim and Eliakim begat Azor, Matt., 1 chap., 13 v., and Azor begat Sadoc and Sadoc begat Achim and Achim begat Eliud, Matt., 1 chap., 14 v., and Eliud begat Eleazar and Eleazar begat Matthan and Matthan begat Jacob, Matt., 1 chap., 15 v., and Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary of whom was born Jesus who is called Christ, Matt., 1 chap., 16 v. Running this straight line from Adam to 00126Christ we find David in the line like a bottle in the smoke and Solomon in the line and he was black which gives me a right to believe all of the men in that line was black people from Adam to Christ, and Mary was the mother of Jesus and of James (Joses who was John) and Simon or Peter Judas, Matt., 6 chap:, 55 Mark, 6 chap., 3 v., St. John, 7 chap., chap., 3 v., St. John, 19 chap., 26-27-28 v., Paul says that James is Christs brother. Gal. 1 chap., 19 v., Christ and all of his brothers must have been black men without a doubt. We black people are not a thrown away people as some of our white friends pretend we are. Job was black, Job 30 chap. 30 v. Jeremiah said he was black, Jer., 8 chap. 21 v. My black brothers and sisters this is a straight line from Adam to Christ and no nobler men ever lived this side of heaven than our fore parents were, and Christ certainly came out of the black generation. Some one may say that Christ was a Jew. I know that, and was not Solomon a Jew also, and yet he was black. Friends you must remember that Abraham was the first Jew that was ever in the world and he was not a Jew until he was 99 years old, and the reason there are royal Jew and a common Jew is Abraham and his children made the royal Jew and his servants made the common Jew. Gen., 17 chap., 1-14 v. And Abraham was the father of the act of circumcision and the father of the Jew, Rom. 4 chap. 11-12 vs. David was like a bottle in the smoke and he was a noble Jew, and Solomon was black and he was a noble Jew.

119 Psalm, 83 v., Song of Solomon, 1 chap. 5-6 v. Solomon was black, but yet he had wisdom enough to speak 3000 proverbs and sing 1005 songs I King, 4 chap., 32 v., and the white people of this country love to call us "niger" and negroes, but the word niger appear in the Bible, but the word negro does not appear at all unless they have the same meaning, but if the word niger refers to us, then we are willing to accept our kin folks.

Peter and John were Nigers; Acts, 13 chap., 1 v., and John was known as the son of consolation; Acts, 4 chap., 36 v., 00137and Peter and John had great power to heal, or God, through them, did great healing; Acts, 3 chap., 3-12 v.

Remember that James (Joses or John Peter and Jude) (not Judas Iscariot) were all Christ's brothers and Christ had sisters too. Read Matt. 13 chap. 55-56 v., and since we see that Peter and John were Christ's brothers, and in the 13th chap. of Acts and 1st verse they are called nigers, and our learned men claim that this word niger means black, and if this is true, then Christ and Mary and all of his brothers were black, and if Joseph and Mary's blessed family were black, I don't care if I am black, I can be as good as anybody. Revelation gives us to know that Christ's hair was white like wool and his eyes like flames of fire; Rev., 1 chap., 14 v. And there is no other race as I know of has hair that favors wool more than we have. I want you to all remember that language teaches us that the word Etheopian means black, and if this is true, Moses' wife was a black Etheopian; Num., 12 chap., 1 v., and also remember that the Eunuch who was the treasurer holder under Candice, the queen, was an Etheopian; Acts, 8 chap., 27 v. If these noble men that I find from Adam down to Christ and from Christ to the Eunuch were black men, then I don't care if I am black, I can be as good as anybody else. My black brothers and sisters it is time that we were opening our eyes and look out for ourselves as well as other nations. I trust this lesson on the black people will prove a blessing in the world.O! come all ye scattered race,And the Savior's love embrace; You may see his smiling face, yet with care.He is on the giving hand,Will you come at his command. And you'll with the angels stand,Over there.CHORUS.Over there, over there,There is a land of pure delight over there. We will lay our burdens downAnd at Jesus side sit down,And we'll wear a starry crown,Over there.

CHAPTER IV.God says the land is His and men say it is theirs, and I don't know who it belongs to, but I will write it up according to the Bible. God said to Moses, "the land shall not be sold for the land is mine; Lev. 25 chap., 23-24 v., 50 Psalm, 10-12 v. Gentlemen, it might be right for men to sell and buy the land and it might be right for them to rent it out at two or three prices to the poor. I have never seen where God told men to treat each other that way. If men want to sell the land and will sell it, here is one order Christ gave them to sell on: Christ told one man who had lots of wealth to sell it and distribute it among the poor; Matt., 19th chap., 21-22 v.

A few words to you brothers who belong to the church and own so much land and claim to be children of the Most High God; and you men who own hundreds and thousands of acres of land are too narrow hearted and stingy to give a piece of it for a church ground or grave yard or hospital. If God gives you stingy-hearted people a seat in heaven, I don't know what he will give it to you for. I positively believe the government should have in charge every foot of land in the world, and let every man pay taxes or rent to the government. Let the treasure be a government treasure, for the assistance of all, and not an individual treasure, so when men die off their widowed wives and orphan children could draw pension, and, in fact, pure religion and undefiled before God comes under this head to care for the fatherless and widows; Isa., 1 chap. 17 v, James, 1 chap. 27 v. I believe God made this world for us all, but speculators have taken it and will not let the poor enjoy it. Merchandising is wrong according to Scripture; Rev. 18 chop., 1-24 v. God has already notified you that the merchants of the earth shall weep and moan over her for no man buyeth their merchandise any more; Rev., 18 chap., 11 v., and God proceeded to describe the merchandise to us; Rev. 18 chap., 12-14 v. God gives us to know that you were made rich by merchandising, and further gives us to know that the day would come that you would weep on the account of it; Rev., 18 chap., 15-17 v. 00159James says go to, you rich men, weep and howl; James, 5 chap., 1-3 v. You rich men can think on it. The day is coming when God will settle with you all. You all can make fun of it all you please, but Christ gave us to know in Mark, 13 chap., 31 v. that heaven and earth shall pass away but His word will not pass away. Peter gave us to know, the grafs withereth and the flower falleth away but the word of the Lord endureth 1 Peter,1 chap., 24-25v. Richness came from men's own wisdom and traffic; Ezekiel, 28 chap., 4-6 v. Men in speculating have come to own nearly all of the land, horses, cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, turkeys, geese, ducks, chickens, potatoes, peas, all of the fruits, all of the clothing, all of the fruits, all of the clothing, all of the vegetables, all of the railroads and machinery of different kinds and a great many acres of the woods land, and the rich men has posted and will not allow the poor people to catch rabbits, coons and no other game on it and a great many lakes and fishing streams, they won't allow the poor to fish in them. I ask this question in the name of God and His son Jesus Christ, what will become of the poor? The way things are going on by men calling themselves leaders! Christian people ought to quit laying up individual treasures, and put their strength together? Psalms shows that this idol of silver and gold is the works of man's own hand; 115 Psalm, 4 v. Christ spoke against men laying up treasures on earth; Matt., 6 chap. 19 to 23 v., Luke, 12 chap., 33-34 v.

The apostles when they were preaching and saving souls for the Lord, there was never a word said as ever I have seen about men laying up individual treasures, but when they come to join the church in the days of the apostles they sold their possession and brought the price and laid it at the apostles' feet; Acts, 2 chap. 45-46 v. None of these brethren that were joining owned anything that he had as his own; Acts, 4 chap., 32 to 37 v. This goes to show that they became a eunuch temporal as well as spiritual. You remember that Ananias and Saphira sold their possession and kept back a part and brought a part which was the cause of their death; Acts, 5 chap., 1-11 v. 001610I must say that laying up individual treasures is a curse in the world, because a great many of our preachers now won't preach unless they have a guarantee of so much standing salary per month or year. Yet the same preachers stand up and tell the sinners to lay their treasures up in heaven. The preachers tell sinners to lay up treasures in heaven where they cannot get them until judgment day and the preachers has his laid up where he can get to them each morning at 9 o'clock. I believe every faithful minister ought to live by the gospel without any amount of fixed charges. Let every man that stealeth steal no more, but rather work with his own hands; Eph., 4 chap., 28 v. Let us work faithful, brother preachers, teaching people to observe all things which Christ has commanded and he promised to be with us even until the world shall end; Matt. 28 chap., 20 v. And if we do the work Christ told us to do we won't want for food or raiment.Come holy spirit, heavenly doveWith all thy quickening power;Kindle a flame of secret loveIn these cold hearts of ours.

CHAPTER V.

IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, SON AND HOLY GHOST.

Notice to the world at large: I am against wine and strong drink. Here are some of the reasons that I am against drinking wine and strong drink is this: Noah got drunk on wine and pronounced a curse on his son. Notice Gen. 9:20-25. Lot's daughters made him drink wine and brought shame on his family. Gen. 19:31-36, and God told Aaron not to drink wine nor strong drink. Lev 10:9. God told Moses when a man or woman shall separate themselves unto the Lord, he shall separate himself from win wine and strong drinks. Num. 6:1-4. The Bible says that wine is the poison of dragons. Deut. 32:32-33. All Christians ought to be above drinking wine, when the Bible says it is the devil's poison. You will find in Proverbs that wine 001711is a mocker and strong drink is raging, and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. Prov. 20:1. Proverbs further notifies us not to be among wine bibbers, Prov. 23:20, and tells us not to look upon the wine when it is red. Prov. 23:31-32 I can but say to all Christians, let wine and strong drink alone. We find they rise early and follow strong drinks and continue until night till wine inflame them. Isa. 5:11. I advise every Christian and every poor sinner to let wine and strong drinks alone. Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine and men of strength to mingle strong drink. Isa 5:22. the great leaders erred through wine and strong drinks are out of the way, and they stumble in judgment. Isa 28:7. Friends and enemies, I advise you all to let wine and strong drink alone. Please look at he hand writing on thee wall, on account of men drinking wine in the Lord's vessels. Dan. 5:2-9. Hosea shows that wine and new wine takes away the heart. Hosea 4:11. We are told not to offer wine offerings to the Lord, and we are told they are not pleasing to him. Hosea 9:4. Christ would not drink wine on the cross, Mark 15;23, and the angel that brought the message from heaven a about John, said he shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. Luke 1:15. St. Paul says a bishop must not be given to wine. 1 Tim. 3:3; Titus 1:7. God revealed through his son that Babylon is falling because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Rev 14:8. Look out friends, wine will do you up. Also read Rev 17:2, and God notified us that all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, Rev. 18:3, and further said to us with a voice from heaven, come out of her my people, that ye may be not partakers of her sins, Rev. 18:4, and I, a preacher of God, invite you all to lay down all these strong drinks and all these low down dirty habits. Now, I will give my reason for giving water in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The Saviour promises a reward for giving water. Matt 10:42, and further said, whosoever gives water in my name to drink, he shall no lose his reward. Mark 9:41. If we can get a reward for giving water 001812we had better give it. Now we will notice the Lord's supper. At the table Jesus gave the bread and said this is my body, Matt. 26:26, and He took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them. Matt. 26:27. Now notice what Christ says in particular. He said, this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many, for the remission of sins. Matt. 26:28; Mark 14:24; Luke 22:20. Now I ask every preacher in the world a question. Was wine or grape juice shed for us? No, but it was blood and water which was shed for us that flowed from our redeemer's side. The Saviour teaches that He was the true vine. St. John 15:1-5. And if Christ was the vine, as he said, when they had Him on the cross and crucified him, then they crucified the vine. Yes, not only the vine, but the vine of life, the Saviour of the world, and he was crucified. The Jews did not want the body of Jesus to remain on the cross on the Sabbath day. St. John 19:31. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced my dear Redeemer's side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. St. John 19:34. This tells the world aloud that the Saviour shed blood and water, and that bread and water is what we should use for the Lord's supper. Christ calls himself the bread of life. St. John 6:48-58. Now, we will notice, there cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said unto her, give me to drink, St. John 4:7. And she refused, but Jesus gave her to know that if she had known who he was she would have asked of him water. He said that the water he shall give shall be in him a well of water, springing up into everlasting life. St. John 4:14. Water must be great, according to the blessed Savior's word. St. Paul spoke of water as a spiritual drink. 1 Cor. 10:3-4. Paul said our fathers did all drink the same spiritual drink. To find out what our fathers did drink read Num. 20:8-11. I want to call your attention to another thing. There are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. 1 John 5:7. And no man can be a Christian without friendship of the Father, and the Word and the Holy Ghost, because all these are one and cannot be separated. Now, let us 001913see what the three earthly witnesses are, the spirit and the water and the blood, and these three agree in one. I John 5:8. Now, any one can see that we will have to give water to our new made members, because it is an earthly witness. Yes, water is the thing to use. It is not only needed in this world, but it is needed in the world to come. There was a man in hell begging for water. Luke 16:24. So you can see demons in hell want water: and the saints in glory. Christ will lead them to fountains of water. Rev. 7:17. Please notice this in particular. God promised to give the fountains of water of life freely. Rev. 21:6. And John saw a river of water proceeding out of the throne of God. Rev. 22:1. Anything coming out of the throne of God is good enough for me. The last invitation that God gave to man in the blessed Bible is these words: And the spirit and the bride say come, and let him that heareth say come, and whosoever will let him take the water of life freely. Rev. 22:17. Notice take the water of life freely. God grant that every one that professes to be Christians will lay down all kinds of strong drink and take the water of life freely. Notice, you all must not defile this temple body, because if you are a Christian this temple body of yours is God's temple. Luke, 17:21. 1 Cor. 3:16-17; 1 Cor. 6:19; 11 Cor. 6:16; Eph. 2:21-22. Our body is called a spiritual house, 1 Pet. 2:5, and if this body of ours is God's house, we certainly ought not to open the door of the house, which is the mouth, and fill it with tobacco, and old dirty snuff, and old stinking pipes, and old filthy cigars, and little old wormy looking cigarettes. These dirty things, all Christians ought to be above, and keep such things out of their mouths. Col. 3:8

I really believe it is wrong for any so-called Christian to go around with cigars and tobacco in their mouth and for women so-called Christians ought to keep this filthy snuff out of their mouths. If all of the preachers of the different churches and all of the brothers and sisters were to quit using whiskey and strong drink, I believe two-thirds of the saloons would have to close for the want of customers. God grant that this drunkard 002014sin and tobacco sin may all be moved out of this world and let the people become clean and temperate once more.Lord Jesus I long to be perfectly whole;I want thee forever to live in my soul.Break down every idol,Cast out every foe:Now wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.CHORUS.Whiter than snow,Yes whiter than snow,Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow.

CHAPTER VI.Repent of your sins sinners, or you will be lost. I want to show you in this work that men have to repent, but they don't have to pray and repent. They have to repent and then pray. It repented the Lord and grieved him at his heart that he made man on the earth. Gen. 6 chapter, 6 verse. This would show that repentance and sorrow are in close connection with each other. Read these notes on repentance closely and see that none of them says pray and repent, but they say repent, Deut. 32:36; 1 Sam. 15:11; 11 Sam. 24:16; I King, 8 chapter, 47 verse; Job 42 chapter, 6 verse; Jer. 18 chapter, 8 verse; Ezekial 14:6; Ezekial 18:30. This is the Old Testament scriptures, now we will go to the New Testament. John preached repentance, Matt. 3:1-2, but he never did say pray and repent, and Jesus Christ, our Savior, preached and taught repentance. Matt. 4:17. Read these notes closely on repentance and you will see that they say repent all right, but they don't say pray and repent. Matt. 9:13; Matt. 12:41; Mark 1:4. Jesus taught men to repent and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15, but Jesus our saviour taught men to repent and believe the gospel, but he never said pray and repent and believe the gospel. All this praying to repent and this mourners' bench business, and going out in the woods to hunt God is all a humbug and ignorance of the deepest dye. The apostles when 002115they preached they taught men to repent. Mark 6:12. I don't know where this idea came from from teaching men to pray and repent, unless it came from wine drinking preachers. Proverbs gives us to understand that those who drink wine and strong drink are not wise. Prov. 20:1 Then the preachers who drink wine in the church and give it to their members must not be wise according to the Bible. John still preaches repentance, Luke 3:3; Friends at large, you all must repent or perish. Luke 13:3; Luke 13:5. Notice friends Christ speaks of great rejoicing over one sinner that repents. Luke 15:7. Also when the apostles were sent out to preach they were told that they should preach repentance and remission of sins. Luke 24:47. And on the day of Penticost the sinners asked the apostles what they must do, Peter said repent. Acts 2:38. Now when sinners ask the preachers what they must do to be saved, they tell them to come to the mourners' bench and go and get religion. They are telling the poor sinners to do something they never saw in the Bible in their lives. Postle

Peter still preaches repentance. Acts 3:19; Acts 17:30; Acts 2:21; Acts 26:20; 26:20; Rom. 2:4. Our preachers have been teaching that Godly sorrow was repentance. The Bible doesn't teach it. The Bible says Godly sorrow worketh repentance. II Cor. 7:9:10; II Peter 3:9; Rev. 2:4_5; Rev. 2:16; Rev. 2:21_22; Rev. 3:3; Rev. 3:19; and the nearest we can connect praying and repentance together is when Postle Peter said repent and pray God. Acts 8:22. But understand this chapter and verse it is repent and pray which shows repentance comes first. It is not as most of the preachers have it: Pray and repent. About sinners' prayers being heard: Job says God will not cast away a perfect man neither will he help an evil doer. Job 8:20. I understand a perfect man to be righteous, and I understand the evil doer to be a sinner. Psalms shows that God would not hear somebody pray and we know he will hear the righteous, and those he would not hear must have been sinners. 18 Ps. 41;66 Ps. 18; Prov. 1:28; Pro. 15:29; Isiah 1:15; Jer. II:II; Ezekiel 8:18; Zach.7:13; And the man that Christ healed his eyes said: Now we know 002216that God heareth not sinners, but if any man be a worshipper of God him he heareth. St. John 9:31. Remember that Postle Peter says the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous and his ears are open to their prayers but his face is against them that do evil. I Peter 3:I2. If the Lord's face is against the wicked I don't think He will have much to do with them in prayer. Notice Christ never told the apostles to tell sinners to pray when he sent them out to preach. Christ when he sent the apostles out to preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. Mark 16:16. Christ never said a word about telling sinners to pray or telling sinners to come to the mourners' bench. If you poor sinners want to be saved accept the word of God and believe in Jesus Christ. Remember friends the word is God. St. John 1:1 and the word was recommended to be Christ. St. John 1:14. And the word is the spirit also. St. John 6:63 Then those who accept the words accept the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, because they all agree in one 1 John 5:7. Sinners believe in Christ and obey him and he he will save you. St. John 3:15-16; St. John 3:36; St. John 20:30-31. And if you sinners believe on Christ and confess him before men he will confess you before his father. Matt. 10:32; Acts 8:36-40; Acts 16 30-36; Rom. 10:9-10. Sinners, poor sinners, if you will accept the word of God like he gave it through Christ he will save you. You don't need to have any fits and spasms, but just accept the word and he will save you. Matt. 7:24-25. And you who don't obey him need not expect to be saved. Matt. 7:26-27. Think on judgment. Deu. 32:22; Mal. 4; Job 14:13; Job 39:19; Luke 17:29; II Thes. 1:7-8. With this I will leave you all in the hands of the Lord. And must I be to Judgment brought,And answer in that day?

CHAPTER VII.The first sin or disobedience I see is the angels fighting in heaven. [The disobedient angels fell.] Then some one of 002317these fallen or sinful angels or serpents went to Eve and persuaded her to eat the forbidden fruit. That, of course, made Eve a sinner if I understand it. Then Eve persuaded Adam to eat the fruit. Gen. 3:16. What is sin? It is disobedience. God told Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit of a certain tree and as long as they obeyed God they were all right, but when they disobeyed God it was not long until God drove them out the garden. Gen. 3:24. This is plain that sin is disobedience. I trust that this will enable you all to see if any person wants to get rid of their sin they must get rid of disobedience and then they are rid of their sin and Jesus Christ will save those who forsake their evil way. Isa. 1:16-17; Isa. 55:7; Zach. 8:16-17. The way that sinners or the wicked are to get rid of their sin, they must quit doing wrong, and here is the proof of it if the Bible is true. Ezekiel 18:2121; Ezekiel 18:27-28. Friends there is no use try to dodge it. We must lay aside every weight and

Heb. 12:1. Poor sinners, look to Jesus Christ, our saviour, and he will save you all.Guide me O, thou great Jehovah,Pilgrim through this barren land;I am weak, but thou art mighty,Hold me with thy powerful hand.Bread of heaven,Feed me till I want no more.

CHAPTER VIII.Some preachers and members pretend that it is such a hard thing to obey the Lord, but it certainly ain't so. Christ, our saviour, said, my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Matt. 11:30. And if we can't be pure, we can't be Christians, because Christ, our saviour taught us that the pure in heart shall see God. Matt. 5:8. Some one may say, Brother Christian, that only means your heart being pure. Brothers and sisters don't be narrow-minded on Christianity. Christ Jesus, our 002418saviour, taught us to be perfect even as our father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt. 5:48. You remember that Christ said O righteous father. St. John 17:25. Then if God the father is righteous, we ought to be sanctified. St. John 17:17. That would lead me to believe that Christ, the true vine, is righteous, then if we are branches in the vine we would have to be righteous as God and Christ is because God is the husbandman and Christ is the vine, and it is a fact we would have to get our substance from the vine, and if Christ, the vine, affords pure then there could not be any other substance in the branches unless it is pure substance. Christ is the vine and God the husbandman. St. John 15-1. And here Christ says, I am the vine, ye are the branches. St. John 15:5-6. Then if the vine is pure the branches must be pure. Remember Christian friends that Postle Paul says in Romans, if the first fruits be holy the lump is also holy and if the root be holy so are the branches. Rom. 11:16. Remember Christian friends that Postle Paul teaches us that we must live righteous and Godly in this world. Tit. 2:12. John teaches us to purify ourselves even as he is pure. I John 3:3. You must remember Christian that Christ was manifested to take away our sins and whosoever abideth in Christ sinneth not. I John 3:5-6. Notice what John says here in particular: Little children let no man deceive you. He that doeth righteousness, is righteous even as He is righteous. I John 3:7; I John 3:9-10. You had better keep out of sin if you want to make heaven your home. And all of you that can't go to judgment in righteousness can prepare to be lost if I understand the Bible. We are taught in the Revelation, Behold I come quickly; and my reward is with me to give every man according as his work shall be. Rev. 22:12. This goes to show just as we live just so God is going to settle with us in the judgment. My God, the spring of all my joys,The life of my delight,The glory of my brightest days,And comfort of my nights.

CHAPTER IX.Christ, our Saviour, taught us that the first and greatest commandment was to love God with all thy heart and with all thy soul and with all thy mind. This is the first and the greatest commandment. Matt. 22:37-38; Mark 12:30. Let us all examine ourselves by the words of Christ and the apostles and we can soon tell whether we love God or not. God through Christ taught us, if you love me keep my commandments. St. John 14:15. Yet lots of our people claim to love God, but they fail to obey his word. Christ said if you love me you would keep my words, St. John 14:23. Christ further said we were his friends if we done whatsoever he commanded us. St. John 15:14. And all people who profess that they know God and keep not his commandments, John gives us to know, they are liars and the truth is not in them. I John 2:4. Christian friends let us examine ourselves and let us love everybody in the world regardless of race, color or condition. Remember the second commandment is to love your neighbor as yourself (or in other words, your brothers and sisters in Christ. Matt. 22:39. Remember friends, Christ told us to love one another as he loved us. St. John 13:34-35. He never said each race love his own race; he just said love one another. Christ further said, this is my commandment that ye love one another as I have loved you. St. John 15:12. Postle Peter invites us all to love the brotherhood, fear God, honor the king I Peter 2:17. John seems to teach us to love one another to that extent (as brethren) until we lay down our lives for one another. I John 3:16. Dear readers we have just got to love one another as God has commanded us, or we will have to go to hell, if we don't obey the Lord. Here is an important part, dear friends, I want to call your attention to. Christ didn't only tell us to love God and our neighbors or brothers and sisters, but Christ told us to love our enemies. Matt. 5:44. That is right too, because when a man has love enough in his heart to love his enemy, that is supreme love, that is in the light of the love of God, because God sent his son to die for his enemies. Then if we have the 002620love of God shed abroad in our heart we will love our enemies too, because that is the nature of God's love. Remember Postle Paul said, hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts. Rom. 5:5. Remember the love of God is universal, and when we have the love of God in our hearts we love everybody.I will never cease to love Him,My saviour, my saviour;I will never cease to love Him:He has done so much for me.

CHAPTER X.Any and everybody may kick, but Christ Jesus said we all ought to be one. I hope to make this plain in note, so you can find it in note by searching the Scriptures. Christ said we are to be one, one fold and one shepherd. St. John 10:16. Christ also spoke of us being one, in St. John 17:11. Christ prayed to his father for us all to be one even as him and his father are one. St. John 17:21-23. Postle Paul speaks of us being one in Christ. Rom. 10:12; Rom. 12:5; I Cor. 12:13; Gal. 3:28. These chapters and verses here shows Christ and the apostles said for us to be one and remember that Postle Peter said we ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29. And there is no difference between Christian people if I understand the Bible and Postle Peter said there is no respective persons with God. Acts 10:34-35. Paul says about the same. Rom. 2:11. And Paul further says there is no difference. Rom. 3:22. James teaches us not to have respective persons. James 2:9. No man on earth is better than I am, unless he beats me doing right and everybody in this world that beats me doing right is better than I am and nobody's color or wealth makes them better than I am, and everybody in this world, regardless of their color or wealth, that I beat doing right, I am better than they are. Here are the eight qualities which every person needs and must have to be a Christian: Have faith in God and in Christ Jesus; first is faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, Godliness, 002721brotherly kindness and charity. II Pet. 1:5-7. If we have these eight qualities as above mentioned we shall certainly prosper. II Pet. 1:8. Brethren give diligence to make your calling and election sure, for if ye do these things ye shall never fall. II Peter 1:10. For so an insurance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. II Peter 1:11. God grant that our hearts may all be set aright.Come saints and sinners, hear me tell,The wonders of Immanuel,Who saved me from a burning hell,And brought my soul with him to dwell. And gave me heavenly union.

CHAPTER XI.Christ Jesus is the the son of God, according to the blessed Bible, and Christ our saviour, said thou are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church. Matt. 16:18. If Christ is the son of God and says my church, then it is God's church. It is not a Roman Catholic Church as some would pretend it is. The apostles were taught to feed the church of God. Acts Acts 20:28. But the apostles were never taught to feed a Baptist church of any kind. Postle Paul's letter to the Romans said the churches of Christ salute each other with a holy kiss. Rom. 16:16. Some one may say you called it the church of God a while ago, and now you call it the church of Christ. I know that but God and Christ are one. St. John 10:30. So when you say the church of God and the church of Christ, it is all the same, but the Catholic and the Baptist is another name altogether, added by men. In Paul's teaching in the Cor. we find that the church was called the Church of God I Cor. 1:2, I Cor. 10:32; I Cor. 11:16 and 22; I Cor. 15:9; II Cor. 1:1; Gal. 1:13. All of these notes above shows where it was called the church of God. Now I want some Catholic pope or priest or Baptist minister or Methodist bishop or preacher to show where the Bible ever called the church of Baptist church, Methodist, 002822Catholic, or any other of these sectarian names they are using. Remember brethren that Postle Paul says, though we an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel than that we have preached let him be a curse. Gal. 1:7-9. I want to still show that the church was called the church of God by the apostles. I Thes. 2:14; II Thes. 1:4; Tim. 3:5. Notice this time how particular Paul speaks this time about he church of God. But if I tarry long that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. I Tim. 3;15. The church of God is the church of Christ said the gates of hell cannot prevail against, and Paul says it is the pillar and the ground of truth, and if this is true the church of God ought to be builded up all over the world and all of the other churches ought to be torn down. It it is right to wash feet in the church it is right to wash feet in the church as soon as the church goes through the exercise of taking the Lord's supper, then feet washing is next. John 13:4. I think the feet washing is so much important as the Lord's supper, and if anything, more important, because Christ never did say that a man did not have any part with him if he did not take the supper (as I ever saw) but Christ gave Peter to understand if he he did not let him (Christ) wash his feet he had no part with him. St. John 13:5,12. Then as soon as Peter found out he had no part, he surrendered to Christ and after Christ had washed their feet then he gave them this lecture: Ye call me Master and Lord and ye say well, for so I am. If I then, your Lord and master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example that ye should do, as I have done to you. Verily, verily I say unto you, the servant is not greater than his Lord neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him. If ye know these things happy are ye if ye do them. St. John 13:13-17. Brethren, most of our preachers say Christ did not mean for us to wash feet. Whether he meant it or not, he taught it, and, the apostles whose feet Christ washed, are the same men that 002923Christ sent out to preach, and Christ told them to teach all nations and told them to teach to observe all things whatsoever he hath commanded them. Matt. 28:19-20. If Christ said teach us to observe all things, I don't see how we can leave feet washing and say we have it all. And James give us to known if we do the whole law and yet offend in one point we are guilty of the whole. James 2:10. Postle Paul speaks of feet washing in the midst of good works. I Tim. 5:10.

So if Christ taught feet washing I don't see why anybody in the world would have any right to object to it.I am not ashamed to own my Lord,Or to defend his cause.

CHAPTER XII.Christ taught us in a way to know hypocrites by hearing them pray in the synagogues (or in churches). He gave us to know they would stand and pray. Matt. 6;5. I suppose Christ was talking about this hollering and whooping in the streets to God and calling it praying. It may suit you all but I don't think it suits God at all. Christ told us not to use vain repetitions in prayer. Matt. 6:7, Here is what I would call vain repetitions: Bro. Tom or Jack or Jim, or whoever he may be, lead us in prayer. Then the brother kneels down and starts: Lord God, our Heavenly Father, here comes your weak and unworthy servant, knee bent and body bowed. Oh! Lord, I want you to bow my heart beneath my knees and let my knees be found in some lonesome valley. Now, friends, suppose God were to answer that fellow's prayer? Suppose God would take his heart out and put it beneath his knees, in some lonesome valley? I think he would be in a bad fix. Then the fellow prays on and asks God to unveil His face and come stately stepping this way, and if he were to see God coming he would be hard to catch. Then the fellow praying thinks that God has forgotten His business and he wants to refresh Him of it. He tells God to remember the cattle of a thousand hills and the fish 003024of the sea and the winged fowls and the creeping things of the earth and as far as human feet ever trod the soil, and as far as the ships ever sailed the briney ocean, and after you have remembered all around the whole world look back, remember me who feels that I am the least of all, if I am anything at all. If some one else tells that fellow he is the least of all a month later they will have to fight him. Damnation is threatened on long prayers. Luke 20:47. And if damnation don't catch the majority of our prayers, we have got in the field, now I can't tell why, if the Bible is true. Here is another fellow praying, Oh! Lord have mercy on the drunkard, and the same fellow is drinking from a quart to a gallon of beer each day, and from a pint to a half gallon of whiskey each week. I don't blame a fellow like that for asking God to have mercy on the drunkard, because he knows if God overlooks the drunkard he is left. Then the same fellow prays on and tells God to remember the whiskey dealers and saloon keepers and all I can't see what a man means when he prays for the whiskey dealers and saloon keepers and then drinks himself, unless he is praying for it to get cheaper, so he can get more of it. Remember what Christ said about long prayers and vain prayers. It is true that Christ told us to ask in his name and he would do it. St. Matt. 7:7. St. John 14:13. But I want you to understand, Christ never told us to pray what we please. Christ Jesus quietly told his disciples what to pray. Matt. 6:9-13. And I think we all ought to obey the saviour. In all my Lord's appointed waysMy journey I'll pursue.

CHAPTER XIII.God and Christ nor the apostles never told any body to get religion, nor neither did they tell any body that religion would get them. Yet we have got thousands of preachers going over this country telling people to get religion and no preacher has ever seen such doctrine in the Bible. It is awful funny that preachers will teach people to do or get something they have 003125never seen in the Bible. Ask most of our preachers and members what religion is and they will say the love of God is religion, and others will answer that the love of God in the heart is religion. Postle Paul spoke of the love of God in the heart, but he did not call it religion. St. James tells us what counterfeit religion is, if I understand it in these words: If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceive his own heart, this man's religion is in vain. James 1:26: Now James goes on to tell us what pure religion is. He don't stop at telling us that it is pure, but he tells us that it is pure before God and the father. Now let James tell us what this pure religion is, then we can soon tell whether it is to get or do pure religion and undefiled before God and the father, is this: To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. James 1:27. Now dear readers you can see if religion is what James says it is, it is something to do and not to get, and if this is religion, there are a mighty few people who have begun to work at it yet. God grant that every human being may come to the idea of pure religion and the condition of the people will be so much better, Baptist preachers and Methodist bishops and preachers and all other preachers of any kind that are teaching people to get religion had better quit it.Let us go on as warriors,And make no alarm;if our souls are anchored in Jesus,The devil can't do us no harm.CHORUS.My good Lord has been here,Blessed my soul and gone away;My good Lord has been here,Blessed my soul and gone away.

CHAPTER XIV.This subject is strictly on whoremongers and whores, and 003226every human that loves virtue and morality certainly hates whoredom or whoremongers or whorishness. Here is a passage of scripture that God saw in his foreknowledge, the plans that men would make in the daytime to lead women astray at night. Job 24:15 and 16. Here is a passage of scripture which shows that the ways of a woman of bad character are crooked, and she flattereth with her words, she hath forsaken the guide of her youth; her house incline unto death. Prov. 2:15-18. Oh, just listen of what I would call the words of an honest woman! Prov. 2:12-14. God grant that all honest women may escape the company of evil men. Yet there are some low-down women, with their sweet words, sits around to tempt men, but remember, old girl, your feet takes hold on hell. Prov. 5:3-5. I was preaching in Pine Bluff, Ark., in the year '95, on the street, and I used the words whores and whoremongers in my sermon, and at the close of my sermon I was arrested by some of the city authorities and pleaded guilty to the charge of using those words and paid $5.75. I begun trying to preach in 1875, in the State of Louisiana. I tried to preach as other men, and as I thought was right, and no one bothered me from 1875 until 1888, and in the year 1889 I begun to preach the Bible just as it was laid down and from 1889 until 1896 I have been arrested five times and have been made to pay out in law $1,169.74 and in the midst of this trouble I was made to sleep in two different jails, but yet I will speak against bad character. If my mother lives with a man unmarried to him, I know her as a whore, or my sister. If my father lives with a woman, unmarried to her I know him as a whoremonger and all other people in the world that lead such lives. I know them as the same. The Bible says whores and whoremongers and I think I ought to be allowed to say the same, and here are the notes scriptural to show it. Prov. 6:24-26. Proverbs further shows that a man that committeth adultery with a woman lacks understanding and destroyeth his own soul. Prov.6:32. Friends read these notes closely and then you won't be so mad with me. Prov. 7:5-27; Prov. 9:13-18; Prov. 22:14. Here the Bible says a whore is a 003327deep ditch. Prov. 23:27-29. Men ought not be arrested for preaching what the Bible teaches. Let us follow bad character on with the sword of the spirit until we break it up or run it out of the world. Lewd women are lower down than turkey buzzards. Each of them answer in about the same purpose. One eats up filth and the other is no better. God helps us to redeem our people from lewdness. Look at the young girls in this country that are mothers and have no husband. Let us notice some more notes scriptural against bad character. Rom. 1:28-32; Rom. 3:13-14; Rom. 8:16. Some of our people make out they don't know what fornication is. It is illegal cohabitation. Here it is: I Cor. 5:1; also notice I Cor. 5:11. God grant that we all may keep out of bad company. A woman or man that lives in the church and pretends to be a Christian and lives in adultery, is the dirtiest people in the world, and any preacher who preaches to people and himself lives in adultery, is as dirty as any imp in hell. I know how low-down an immoral life will bring a man by personal experience. A big part of my past life has been a wreck. I was born a slave, grew up without an education and no one ever taught me the worth of virtue and morality, but I thank God that in the year 1889 I discovered the glittering diamonds of virtue and the golden stream of morality. Let us notice the Bible further on bad character: Those who look on women to lust after them have committed adultery with her in his heart. Matt. 5:28. And those who think evil in their heart are filthy in their heart, or in other words, those who have these things proceed out of their mouth, show that they are filthy in heart. Matt. 15:18-20; Mark 7:21 and 22. Those who commit fornication sin against their own body. I Cor. 6:18. Let us notice what the works of the flesh is. Gal. 5:19 to 21; Eph. 4:31. Here the scriptures speaks of wrath coming on us on the account of bad character. God help us to shun it. Col. 3:5.9. I Thes. 5:7. And all of you who don't believe the truth of God will be damned. 11 Thes. 2:12. A law is made for the lawless and you had better obey it. 1 Tim. 1:9. And here the Bible speaks of whoremongers, 003428the word that when I speak it, people say I ought to be arrested. Here is a place that goes to show men crept in silly women's houses and lead them astray. 11 Tim. 3:6; Titus 3:3. St. Paul makes it mighty plain here on the married and on the unmarried that live together and here is what he says: Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled, but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. Heb. 13:4. Females, whatever you do hold on to your virtue. A woman without virtue is like a scare crow; neither one ain't nothing. I have shown the words whores and whoremongers in the Bible. Now the next time they want to make an arrest they ought to arrest the publishing companies that are making the Bible and selling it. I am only preaching it; I didn't publish it. Here we have the word whoremongers. Rev. 21:8. Notice one more note on bad character. God put the people down as low as dogs who would not obey his word. For without are dogs and sorcerers and whoremongers and murderers and idolators and whoever loveth and maketh a lie. Rev. 22:15. The laws of our country which are made and carried in effect by the white men of this country. Their laws says that the blacks and whites shall not mix together, yet and still I see lots of black women who are the mothers of children, and she is black and her child has white skin and a Roman nose, sharp chin, thin lips, straight hair and blue eyes. Now, I want to know if the law makers and the white race are abiding in the law? Why is it a black woman has such a child as this? So I will say this, that any white man that will sleep with a black woman and is not married to her, is lower down than any black man in the world. And you black woman who will allow a white man to sleep with you without being married to him, is lower down than any carrion crow or any filth that has ever been thrown on the dung hill, and I believe when this lesson is read by honest white men and women they will say amen, in their heart and I believe all of the black people that are honest will say amen. Christ told us not to fear men but fear God. Matt. 10:26-28. John gives us to know that perfect love casts out all fear. 1 John 4:18. 003529God pity these little old coward preachers who are afraid to get up and tell the truth, so afraid you will hurt somebody's feelings. You had better stop being so modest and lead the people the way God said for them to go, afraid to use the word whoremongers and whores. Preachers you had better pull off some of this primp and style you have and sail into bad character on every side and redeem those men and women out of such wretched lives, and they will thank you for your redemption and God will save you for your faithfulness. How can I sink with such a prop as the eternal God, Who bore the earth's huge pillars up and spread the heavens abroad.

CHAPTER XV.Christ sets people free. Free from what? Ploughing, cotton picking, stock raising, rail roading, steam boating, washing, ironing, cooking, saw milling from the harvest field, sugar farms, rice fields, free from toil in this world? No! No! But free from sin. Christ sets us free from our sins. Free! Free. St. John 8:32; St. John 8:36. St. Paul tells us about this blessed freedom, not free to loafers, not free to sit down, not free to do nothing. But Christ and Paul are talking about another freedom. Oh, what a blessed thought! Free from sin. Rom. 8:2. Then after we are made free, Postle Paul tells us how to stand. Here is what he says: Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. Gal, 5:1. This is the kind of freedom that every human needs on earth, from the noblest human down to the tramp. God grant that we all may be free from sin.

Sprinkling or pouring water I don't think will do according to my Christian belief and scriptural proofs. Our preachers often harp of the Children of Israel being baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea. I don't think that had any reference to water baptism whatever. Ex. 13:21 and 22; Ex. 00363040:33; Duet. 1:33; Neh. 9:12-19; 78 Psalm 14 v.; 105 Psalm 39. It is true that Paul spoke of them being baptized in the sea and in the cloud unto Moses. 1 Cor. 10:1 and 2. But Paul never said a word about them being baptized with water. It is true Isiah says sprinkle. Isa. 52:15. Ezekiel also speaks of sprinkling. Ezekiel 36:25. John the Baptist used the word baptize with water. Matt. 3:11. It is true the saviour used the word baptizing. Matt. 28:19. But he did not say with water or in water. It is true the book of Mark teaches us that he that believes and is baptized shall be saved. Mark 16:16. But it does not say with water or in water. Oh! I believe I can see the right idea now about water. I have looked through the Mosaic law, Isiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel and at John the Baptist, but oh, I hear my blessed saviour say, Except a man be born of the water and of the spirit he can not enter into the kingdom of God. St. John 3:5. I understand anything to be born, must first be conceived or covered or hid out of sight and then come forth to sight, makes a birth. So you all that have been sprinkled had better go and be put under the water head and ears and brought forth in Christ's name. Otherwise you will go to hell. Notice what Paul says about Baptism. Rom. 6:3 and 4; Gal 3:27. Remember Christ said be born of water and that is a dead shot against sprinkling, itself. I believe all children that confess their belief in Christ should be admitted to join, no matter how small they are. My reason for this is Christ said suffer little children to come unto me. Matt..19:13 and 14; Luke 18:16.We shan't be slaves no more,Since Christ has made us free,He nailed our title to the cross,And bought our liberty.

CHAPTER XVI.Geography teaches that the earth is round like a ball and further says the earth revolves around the sun. I think each of these thoughts are wrong if the Bible is true. God taught Job that the earth had a foundation a corner stone. Job 00373138:4-6. Revelations teaches us that the angels shall stand upon the four corners of the earth, and hold the four wings of the wind. Rev. 7:1. And if four angels stands on the four corners of the earth that will show it has four corners and if it has four corners it is not like any round ball that ever I saw. The sun moves. Joshua prayed to the Lord to stop the sun. Had it not been moving it couldn't have stopped because it would have been already still, And I notice the words hasten no to go down about a whole day. Josh. 10:12 and 13. Hasten or go either one, means moving if I understand it, and there was no day like that before or after it. Josh 10:14. This itself would show that the sun is moving. The word rise means to move. 19 Psalms 5 and 6; Ecc. 1:5; Mark 16:2. It must have been off its regular daily duty. If it had not have been the day would have been like all other days. Christian friends don't let any one fool you away from the Bible. It has more justice in it than any other book I have ever read in my life. It will pay us to be more careful as to what our children are taught in the future than we have been in the past. I trust this lesson will prove a blessing on the people. Let us put all of our trust in the Lord.

CHAPTER XVII.Notice to all the Christian friendship preachers. The order of the burial of the dead. The elder meeting the corpse and going before it shall say: "I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believe in me shall never die; St. John 11:25-26. We brought nothing into this world and it is certain we can carry nothing out. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away, blessed be the name of the Lord." I Tim. 6:7, (Then shall follow the lesson:) "In my Father's house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you I will come again and receive you unto myself that where I am there ye may be also." St. John 14:2-3. 003832(When the corpse is laid in the earth the elder shall say:) "Man that is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble, he cometh forth like a flower and is cut down; he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. In the midst of life we are in death. Of whom we may seek for succor but of thee O Lord for our sins are justly displeased." (Then the elder may say:) "For as much as it has pleased Almighty God in His wise providence to take out of the world the soul of our deceased, we, therefore, commit this body to the ground. Earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust, looking for the general resurrection in the last day, the life of the world to come through the Lord, Jesus Christ, at whose second coming, in glorious majesty to judge the world, the earth and the sea shall give up their dead, and the corruptible bodies of those who sleep in him shall be changed and made like unto his own glorious body according to the mighty working, whereby he is able to subdue all things unto himself." (Then shall be said:) "I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me: Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord henceforth, yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors." (A suitable hymn may here be sung. And then shall the elder say: "Let us pray." All should repeat after him:) "Our Father which art in heaven; hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come; thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen."

Notice to the Christian Friendship Elders. (A form of matrimony): "Dearly: We are gathered together here, in the sight of God and in the presence of these witness to join together this man and this woman in holy matrimony, into which holy state these two persons present come now to be joined. Therefore, if any can show any just cause why they may not lawfully be joined together, let them speak now or else hereafter forever hold their peace. (If no impediment be alleged, then shall the elder say to man): M--, wilt thou have 003933this woman to be thy wedded wife, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou love her, comfort her honor and keep her, in sickness and in health, and forsake all others, keep thee only unto her as long as ye both shall live? (The man shall answer, "I will.") Then shall the elder say unto the woman: W--, wilt thou have this man to be thy wedded husband, to live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Wilt thou obey him, serve him, honor and keep him, in sickness and in health, and forsake all others, keep thee only unto him so long as ye both shall live. (The woman shall answer "I will.") Then shall the elder join their right hands together and say: Those whom God hath joined together let no man put asunder. For inasmuch as M. and W. have consented together in holy wedlock and have witnessed the same before God and this company, and thereto have pledged their faith either to other, and have declared the same by joining hands, I pronounce that they are man and wife together, in the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen. (And elder shall add this blessing): Our Father which art in Heaven. Matt 6:9-13.

Elders, please see that there is a Sunday-school carried on at the temple which you have charge of. Elders, please advise the members to see after each other in sickness or in case of death.

I have been taught all my life that the first day of the week or Sunday, was the Sabbath; but found out that is wrong. The last day of the week, or Saturday, is the Sabbath day. Some will say, Christian, why don't you keep Saturday as the Sabbath day? The reason I don't do it is, I can't find where Jesus told me to keep it; moreover, Jesus Christ himself, healed on the Sabbath day. Matt. 12:2-9; Mark 2:24-28, Mark 3:2-4, Luke 6:2, Luke 13:14-17; St. John 5:10-16. So Christ after he had risen from the dead, on the first day of the week he seemed to go into the hall and assemble with his brethren on the same day. Since I see he held his meeting on the first day of the week I will hold mine and teach others the same. Christian, 4034where is the scripture showing Christ held his meeting on the first day of the week? St. John 20:19-29.

It is not in the Sabbath day, but in Christ Jesus. Rom. 6:11: Rom. 7: 4; Gal 2:19-20; Gal. 6:14-16; Col. 3:3; I Pet. 2:24. So don't ask me, do I keep the Sabbath day, but ask me do I keep, the words of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and my answer to this, I do, and then I feel that all that keeps Christ's words are saved, according to Christ's words. Matt. 7: 24. Let us all look to Christ.

I did organize a Christian Friendship work in the month or April, 1890, near Wrightsville, Ark., in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost. Amen. I did first organize a Christian friendship work, but when I looked closer at the Holy Bible and found that the church was called the church of the living God, then I accepted that precious name (church of the living God) and I do say we all ought to work for Christian friendship and that would make it the church of the living God of the Christian friendship workers. God help all races under the sun to be better.

CHAPTER XVIII.An infidel is one who denies the scripture and Christianity, an unbeliever, and when I meet a man telling me there is no God nor heaven, or hell, I consider according to the Bible we use that he is a fool. 14 Ps. 1 v.; 49 Ps. 10 v.; 53 Ps. I v.; Luke 12 Chapter, 20 V. If there aint no God, no devil, no heaven nor no hell, I can go on believing there is a God and come out even with the infidel, and if there is a God, a devil, a heaven and a hell, I will come out a long ways ahead of the infidel, if I obey the Bible, an my opinion is that all of the infidels and unbelievers when they leave this world they will find there is a hot burning hell, or in other words, a lake that burns with fire and brimstone. Notice, I don't know that a word of the Bible is true from Genesis to Revelations, but I am one that believes the Bible is true, God bless you all.
