Countdown to Kick-Off

Super Bowl XL in Detroit was the first to have an internaitonal flavor, as many events during the build-up to the game occurred across the bridge in Windsor, Canada. This was an extra challenge for CBP as it not only inspected all vehicles entering the stadium using its new gamma ray scanners, it provided inspections of people and vehicles crossing the bridge on Super Sunday. Tour bus companies cooperated with CBP to lessen entry wait times by providing information on passengers before the bus arrived for inspection, greatly speeding the process. Pittsburgh's "Bus," Jerome Bettis, needed no help from CBP as he and his Steelers enjoyed a 21-10 win over Seattle.
