American Citizen Services Fee Schedule

U.S. Dollars and Equivalent in Indian Rupees

Accepted payment methods are as follows:

• Cash – either U.S. dollars or Indian rupees; or
  
• International money order to the exact U.S. dollar amount made payable to the “U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad;” or
  
• Cashiers check drawn in U.S. dollars on a bank in the United States made payable to the “U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad;” or
  
• Demand draft drawn in Indian rupees on a nationalized or foreign bank payable to the “U.S. Consulate General, Hyderabad.”
  
  

Note: The Consulate General is not authorized to accept personal checks. Money orders or demand drafts must have been issued within the last five months. We will neither accept cash by mail/courier, nor overpayment.

Passport Pickup/Delivery Options

If you choose to pick up a passport, the ACS Unit will notify applicants when a passport is ready for pick up.  Passports can be retrieved the same day from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (excluding official holidays). 

For your convenience the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad also offers passback for newly issued passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA) either by courier or registered mail.

All American citizens who wish to receive their new passport or CRBA by courier must purchase a pre-paid courier envelope for INR 169 at any VFS office and submit the envelope when they come to apply for a passport. If you currently have a passport you must show it when purchasing your envelope. We regret that we are unable to accept the courier fees at the American Citizen Services Unit.

All American citizens who wish to receive their new passport or CRBA by registered mail must submit a self-addressed, stamped 9½ X 4 inch envelope bearing INR 54 postage.
