Summer 2003 - working on Linux/Apache/MySql/Perl/Samba (LAMPS) environment

Aiming for September/October 2003 release

Any one with $5,000 US or a couple available machines can duplicate NIST environment

Able to run on several hardware platforms

Enhancement: simple to add external app to knowledge base

• hacked Magic file helps identify file type
• file type is associated with external application, i.e. winzip
• status/error messages from app trigger further processing, i.e. "corrupted zipfile" launches zipfix

Enhancement: code can provide peer-to-peer hashes like used in Kazaa, etc.

Enhancement: code can hash mounted devices

Enhancement: code can hash loopback mounts (ISO images, dd images, etc.)
