11318500 SOUTH FORK MOKELUMNE RIVER NEAR WEST POINT, CA LOCATION.--Lat 38°22'06", long 120°32'40", in SE 1/4 SE 1/4 sec.16, T.6 N., R.13 E., Calaveras County, Hydrologic Unit 18040012, on right bank 500 ft upstream from highway bridge, 2.4 mi southwest of West Point, and 2.5 mi upstream from mouth. DRAINAGE AREA.--75.1 mi2. PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1933 to current year. REVISED RECORDS.--WSP 1315-A: 1934(M). WSP 1930: Drainage area. GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Elevation of gage is 1,950 ft above sea level, from topographic map. October 1933 to Sept. 19, 1957, at site 1,100 ft downstream at different datum. REMARKS.--Records good. The Middle Fork Ditch can divert 10 ft3/s from the Middle Fork Mokelumne River which, due to leakage, delivers about 5 ft3/s to the Licking Fork Mokelumne River. There are two pumps with a combined capacity of 8.9 ft3/s that can pump water to Jeff Davis Reservoir upstream from the station. There are other small diversions upstream from the station for irrigation and domestic use. See schematic diagram of Mokelumne River basin. EXTREMES FOR PERIOD OF RECORD.--Maximum discharge, 7,300 ft3/s, Feb. 19, 1986, gage height, 12.48 ft, from rating curve extended above 2,700 ft3/s on basis of slope-area measurement of peak flow; no flow Aug. 6, 7, Aug. 12 to Sept. 26, 1934.
