U.S. Army Collaborates With Wroclaw University of Technology

29 March 2006

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) provided funding to Jackson State University (JSU) in Mississippi for two projects that have now been conducted in collaboration with the Wroclaw University of Technology (WUT). The joint research work concerns the biodegradation of organophosphonate compounds and the development of a computational model to simulate the process. Dr. Richard Price of ERDC traveled to Wroclaw in March to review progress on the projects. On March 10, he attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between JSU and WUT. Discussion at the event touched on the possibility of an international center for computational sciences and opportunities for student and faculty exchanges.
