Interplanetary Monitoring Platforms (IMP)


The IMPs were a series of spacecraft in NASA's Explorer program which were primarily dedicated to the study of the solar wind and the Earth's magnetosphere. Further information about each individual mission is available below.

Various of the IMPs also contributed to data used in NSSDC's Coordinated Data Workshops (CDAWs) and the OMNI data set. IMP-J data are also available on NDADS.
