ATIP is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing objective and high-quality information about technology developments in Asia. With links to Asian science and technology web sites organized by country, the website provides a clear and concise starting point that can be used to enhance information gathering.

This site has links to scientific laboratories and research departments at Japanese universities and their abstracts, research reports, and publications.

Computing Japan Magazine Online  (http://www.japaninc.net/computingjapan/)
This site offers business information technologies, trends, and resources. It is the only English-language magazine covering the Japanese technology and business scene. It offers user groups, hot products, information on jobs in Japan, and feature articles.

Images from the History of Medicine / National Library of Medicine  (http://wwwihm.nlm.nih.gov/)
This database provides access to the images in the prints and photograph collection of the History of Medicine Division (HMD) of the National Library of Medicine (NLM). The collection includes portraits, pictures of institutions, caricatures, genre scenes, and graphic art in a variety of media, illustrating the social and historical aspects of medicine. Type keyword "HMDJPN" to see over 60,000 Japanese items.

J-EAST Database  (http://j-east.tokyo.jst.go.jp/)
The JST English Aticles of Science and Technology (J-EAST) has English citations and abstracts for documents published in Japan covering all fields of science, technology, and medicine. Sources include about 3,000 journals and serials, conference proceedings, technical reports etc. The database is updated monthly. All bibliographic information and abstracts in the database are searchable.

The Japan Information Access Project / 日本情報  (http://www.jiaponline.org/)
Japan Information Access Project (JIAP) is a Washington DC-based independent, nonprofit clearinghouse for information on Japanese science, technology, industry, and public policy. Founded in 1991, the JIAP has supported a variety of government organizations, universities and private corporations in their efforts to open wider channels to Japanese information. The website includes an excellent directory of S & T websites and documents, a number of JIAP publications, and a calendar of upcoming events.

The website of the Japan Patent Office provides news, general information, announcements, Industrial Property Digital Library (a searchable database of patent information held by the JPO), statistics, and related links.

Japan Science and Technology Corporation / 科学技術振興事業団  (http://www.jst.go.jp/EN/)
This organization promotes research, development, and exchange in the area of science and technology. It collects and disseminates information on science and technology and offers links to select scientific databases.

Japanese Scientific and Technical Information Broker  (http://www.cs.arizona.edu/japan/www/JSTI/query-glimpse.html)
Maintained by the Department of Computer Science at the University of Arizona, this site offers links to mostly Japanese computing and computer science web pages, but also to those dealing with chemistry, physics, and other sciences. It includes online journals, research projects, laboratories, and technical reports.
