Corrections

Current and ex-New Yorkers have contacted the ex-Philadelphian author about an erroneous caption from the first "chapter" of the CIB article in the February issue. The elevated tracks shown in the background of the group photo showing CIB officers standing in Battery Park were incorrectly identified as the predecessors to today's IRT subway. Truth be known, the Ninth Avenue "el" ran on these tracks. Opened in 1871 and operated by the New York Elevated Company, the "el" was closed down in 1940 and the tracks removed shortly thereafter.

The February 2001 issue of U.S. Customs Today listed Thrift Savings Plan account balances at assumed annual rates of return in five-year increments. The dollar amounts at the bottom of figure 1 on page 4 are for a 30-year period, not 5-year.
