This section lists all of the GIS databases available on the CD-ROM for Beaufort County, SC. Metadata is also available, along with thematic maps for many of the databases.

Beaufort County Spatial Databases

All project data for the Hurricane Recovery Project is georeferenced to the South Carolina State Plane Grid System (Zone 3900). This system treats the state as a plane, dividing it into a grid with northing and easting coordinates. The geodetic reference is the North American Datum 1983 (NAD83), which is based on the GRS1980 spheroid. All mapping units are in U.S. Feet.

Data Source: TIGER, Geographic Data Technologies (GDT)
