John Snow, Inc., joins with experienced and talented organizations providing results-oriented technical, programmatic, and management approaches to address HIV. The JSI team includes partners representing a balance of large and small agencies, which will provide USAID, host country colleagues, and clients who ultimately benefit from AIDSTAR activities with responsive, cost-effective, and high quality services.

  • John Snow, Inc (JSI) has built a portfolio of more than 600 projects in 103 countries and is a recognized leader in improving the health of individuals and communities worldwide. In addressing the HIV pandemic, JSI has played an ever-increasing role in local and national responses through expert technical assistance in comprehensive prevention, research, evaluation, service delivery, training, capacity building, and program management. JSI has the flexibility and expertise to provide short-term technical assistance for specific interventions as well as implementation of national programs.

  • BroadReach Health Care is dedicated to expanding access to high quality healthcare worldwide. Through public-private partnerships and a “systems approach,” BroadReach develops innovative, highly scaleable healthcare delivery and finance systems in resource poor environments.

  • EnCompass builds the capacity of AIDS organizations around the world. EnCompass brings technical strength and innovation in M&E, quality assurance, applied and behavioral research, data use for policy improvement, capacity building, and knowledge management.

  • GMMB is a full-service, strategic communications agency dedicated to effective communications outreach on behalf of national and local governments, NGOs, foundations, and corporations.

  • International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) strives to improve the lives of women in poverty through partnerships, research, capacity building, and evidence-based advocacy. ICRW is a globally recognized research expert in HIV prevention, stigma, violence reduction, and OVC support.

  • MAP International is a recognized faith-based leader in community health development, including mobilizing and equipping religious organizations to engage, with knowledge and effective tools, in the response to HIV. MAP works at both policy and grassroots levels to build the capacity of church leaders through training, educational and curriculum materials, and network development.

  • mothers2mothers, a South African organization, empowers mothers living with HIV to reduce HIV transmission to infants, fight stigma, and build sustainable community-based models of care. The organization provides PMTCT services in health care facilities, educates new mothers about HIV, antiretroviral treatment, safe sex, and nutrition, as well as employs local women living with HIV as professional mentors and educators.

  • Promundo, a Brazilian NGO, develops social technologies to promote the holistic development and participation of children and youth. Promundo researches innovative ideas that achieve positive social change, applies findings, and disseminates research to organizations well-placed to continue, expand, and replicate these initiatives.

  • Social & Scientific Systems, Inc (SSS) provides technical, administrative, research, and program and portfolio management services to U.S.-based and international health programs. SSS’s has extensive strength in M&E, knowledge management and ensuring blood safety.

  • University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is a leader in HIV prevention, care, and treatment activities. UAB’s support for comprehensive service delivery includes training in care and treatment; pharmacy back-up supplies; lab equipment and reagents; initial and ongoing training for clinical, laboratory, counseling, home-based care, and data management training; development of clinical forms; infrastructure development, community outreach and education.

  • White Ribbon Alliance unites individuals, organizations and communities to increase public awareness about maternal mortality and morbidity and to promote safe motherhood, including PMTCT policies and programs. Secretariats in 71 countries mobilize to ensure that women and newborns enjoy safe pregnancy, childbirth, and optimal postpartum health.

  • World Education (WEI) implements nonformal education across HIV, income generation, literacy, environmental education, and refugee training. WEI’s Bantwana Initiative addresses OVC needs in sub-Saharan Africa.
