Abstract:

Designated boundaries of the National Park Service in the California desert.

Purpose:

This data set was originally developed to use with other data sets to illustrate lands held or protected by the Federal, State, and Local governments during the development of Congressional legislation which eventually led to the passage of the Desert Protection Act, creating many BLM Wilderness Areas in the CA desert.
