Applications

Application Administration allows you to maintain the applications QualTrax launches to edit documents. You can maintain QualTrax's application list by clicking on Administration-> System-> Applications.

Note: If you configure QualTrax to use the default Windows association for a given file type (see Extensions), it is unnecessary to specify applications for that file type.

Add
There are two steps to adding a new application to QualTrax. First, click on the Add Application button listed under the application table. Second, enter the name of the application and the Application Parameters. Application Parameters are the parameters needed for QualTrax to properly open the application. Fill in the correct parameter string for the application. Use "<FN>" if just the file name is entered, or "<FFN>" (Full File Name) if the entire path to the QualTrax document is used. Typically, you will use "<FFN>."

Adding Locations
Click the Add Application button to proceed. Under the "Locations" bar, you will see an area to manually enter the location where the application can be found on the server or a client workstation. You may also use the Browse... button to browse to the location of the application's .exe file. Click Add Location after you have entered the location. Repeat this step for all desired locations for the application. Remember to specify these locations in a way that is accessible from the users' workstations and not just from the system where you are currently entering the information. It is not critical that you specify every possible location because this list may have new locations appended as specified during use.

Editing
To view an application's properties and its locations, click the application name. From the Applications Administration list, type in any necessary changes and click the Save Changes button.

Remove an Application
Click on the Remove button shown to the right of any application you wish to remove.

Remove an Application's Location
First, select the application and display its properties. Click on the Remove button to the right of the location you wish to remove.
