Accessing Retirement Express

Simply call the Pathfinder number at 1.800.944.7725 and follow the prompts to Retirement Express. Once you are in Retirement Express, the menu will give you more choices: press 1 for general information (includes retirement, TSP withdrawal packages, and forms); press 2 for new and updated information; and press 3 for annuity estimates. You can also get information about Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) and the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) eligibility, high-3 calculations, life and health insurance options, and service credit.

SSN and Employee Express (EEX) PIN are required

You will need your Social Security Number and EEX PIN to obtain a retirement annuity estimate. If you do not have an EEX PIN or have misplaced it, you can request a new one by calling the OPM Help Desk at 478.757.3030, or request a PIN at www.employeeexpress.gov.

Get a personalized annuity estimate

Your annuity estimate is based on your current personnel/payroll records. When prompted, input your SSN and EEX PIN to access your personnel/payroll records. Next, you will indicate the type of retirement: Voluntary, Early (only when authorized -- also includes Discontinued Service Retirement), Disability, or Deferred. You will also enter your projected retirement date and survivor annuity election. Your personalized annuity estimate can be voiced back to you within seconds. You can request that a copy be sent to your home or faxed to you. The annuity estimate does not include federal, state or local taxes, or the impact of inflation or cost of living adjustments.

Additional assistance

If you are within one year of your projected retirement date, you should contact the HRM Retirement Operations Center (ROC) at 202.927.3300 to obtain an annuity estimate. There are several additional circumstances where you should contact the ROC for assistance with service credit: (1) if you are covered under CSRS and have periods of non-deduction service and or had a refund of your retirement deductions; (2) if you are covered under FERS and had a period of non-deduction service prior to 12/31/88; and (3) if you are a FERS Transferee or are retired military.
