Carrier Liaison Program (CLP)

(01/30/2008)
CBP implemented the Carrier Liaison Program (CLP) in February 2006. The Carrier Liaison Program (CLP), as mandated by the Immigration Nationality Act, provides standardized training and assistance to international air carriers related to admissibility and fraudulent document detection in order to encourage carrier compliance with United States immigration laws.

The mission of the Carrier Liaison Program (CLP) is to enhance border security by increasing commercial carrier effectiveness in identifying improperly documented passengers or terrorists destined to the United States. The primary method for accomplishing this mission is by sharing information and training carrier staff. CLP Officers have trained in more than 40 countries and 15 U.S. Ports of Entry reaching an audience of over 9,300 since February 2006.
