November 15, 2004. Together with Hamburg’s Interior Minister Udo Nagel, Consul General Duane C. Butcher and his wife Nazilia opened the 54th “Charity-Bazaar” of the German-American Women’s Club. In his speech, Butcher emphasized the importance of this annual event, which over many decades has supported Hamburg’s children and young people in need. This year’s proceeds go to two local anti-violence projects. The “Charity Bazaar” was visited by 500 guests of all ages and is an ongoing success story of German and American women working together.
