WEIGHING FOR BIOGENIC SILICA


OBTAINING A SAMPLE WEIGHT
Materials Required:
  • 5 Decimal Place Balance
  • Centrifuge Tubes
  • Weighing Paper
  • Spatula
 Preparation Materials; link to larger image; link to larger image
Fold weighing paper into quarters. Fold weighing paper into quarters
Tare balance with weighing paper on balance pan. Zero balance with weigh paper; link to larger image

Weigh out 0.05g of sample.

Record weight (in mg) into lab notebook.

 Balance with sample on weigh paper; link to larger image

Transfer sample from weighing paper into a centrifuge tube.

Place cap back on centrifuge tube.

Transfer sample to tube
