ACE Account Holders Can Now Modify and Create Their Own Reports
(11/17/2008)U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has deployed the second phase of Ad Hoc Reporting, the new Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) Secure Data Portal reports editing feature. Importers, brokers, carriers and sureties with an ACE portal account can now customize all available reports, including account management, account profile and transactions. The expansion of Ad Hoc Reporting also allows account holders to design detailed reports from a blank slate and tailor them to fit their individual business needs.Create reports from scratchTrade or proxy trade account owners can also build individual reports from scratch using Ad Hoc Reporting capabilities, which provides ultimate control over report data. After logging in to the ACE portal and opening reports, account owners and proxies can select “Web Intelligence Document” from the “New” menu, choose a report category and begin adding the exact data needed. Fully customized reports can also be created by simply removing all of the data in a modified report and adding desired data.Ad Hoc Reporting lets ACE portal account holders create user-specific reports by deleting or adding relevant data fields, limiting the amount of returned data and modifying the report layout, which produces reports faster than running “standard” reports.Maximize searching and schedulingACE portal account holders can use a new wildcard feature to isolate specific data. The wildcard feature enhances the flexibility and efficiency of searches by using the percent sign as a placeholder for one or more characters to focus data on a particular series. For example, typing an Importer of Record number with a percent sign at the end – 00-000000000% – will include any number that begins with those digits in a report and will exclude noncorresponding data. ACE portal account holders can also schedule personalized reports to run automatically and save them in an ACE portal inbox for immediate availability. To learn more about ACE report capabilities, please visit the ACE Reports Page.
