Pre-proposals due today at TT Division

October 13, 2006

Projects with strong commercialization possibilities

Some $1.6 million in funds is available for collaborative projects with strong commercialization potential through the New Mexico Technology Research Collaborative of which the Laboratory is a partner. The Technology Transfer Division (TT) is coordinating submission of two-page pre-proposals.

The pre-proposals are due to TT Division today and should be directed to Susan Sprake at sprake@lanl.gov by electronic mail. Pre-proposals are being accepted for projects in

• nanotechnology
• optics
• medical applications, including isotopes
• digital media
• sustainable natural resources
• alternative energies, including solar and hydrogen
• homeland security
• aerospace.

Preference will be given to projects with direct participation and funding by an industry partner. Collaboration among and with member organizations is a requirement to bid on this grant program, as is a minimum one-to-one match in funding.

The New Mexico Technology Research Collaborative (TRC) includes a consortium of organizations across the state. Members range from research universities and institutes to national laboratories and technology accelerators.

More information is available on the TT Division Web page.
