ONLINE PUBLIC ACCESS CATALOG
The Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) provides members with a listing of all material available in the Libraries in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and New Delhi. The database is searchable by author, title, subject, call number, keyword, location, and barcode. OPAC is a user-friendly system, which enables the patron to determine the location and status of a particular book. Contact the Library staff for assistance in using the OPAC. It can also be accessed on the Internet at: http://americanlibrary.in.library.net/.

CD-ROM Databases

The American Library offers an extensive collection of CDROM databases covering a broad range of resources focused on international relations, economic development & trade, management, intellectual property rights, social and political issues, and human rights. Some of the available CD-ROM databases are:

National Geographic
111 years A collection of 111 years of National Geographic Magazine including over 9,400 articles, more than 182,000 spectacular images and illustrations, and 100+ years of classic advertisements, maps, and cover stories from 1888 - 1999.

ProQuest Business Periodicals OnDisc (BPO)
Contains precise, thorough indexing and summaries of significant articles from more than 800 business and management journals. Also includes digitally scanned full-text images of complete articles from over 300 key business and management periodicals since 1995.

ProQuest General Periodicals OnDisc (GPO)
Contains abstracts and indexing to articles from over 1600 general reference publications and the complete scanned images of articles from over 300 periodicals. It covers a wide range of subjects including social sciences, humanities, business, general science and general interest. Updated monthly with a 6-8 week time lag between the date of print publication and its availability on CDROM.

PowerFinder & Sales Leads
An electronic version of the telephone book for the United States, this database lists business and residential telephone numbers and addresses.

Thomas Register
This is the world's most comprehensive directory of U.S. and Canadian manufacturers, listing over 168,000 industrial product and services companies. It is enhanced with over 8,000 manufacturers' catalogs.

Ulrich's On Disc
Covers more than 125,000 serials being published on a regular basis, annually or irregularly. Includes government reports/documents, monographs, newsletters, periodicals and corporate reports.

Academic Periodicals Collection
Provides access to over 800 full text academic titles covering nearly all areas of academic study including social sciences, humanities, education, sciences, computer science, religion and philosophy, language and linguistics, arts, literature, and ethnic studies.

Books in Print on Disc with Book Reviews
Covers 300,000 book reviews from various eminent sources in the U.S., active and inactive audio and video data, out-of-print titles, and forthcoming books. User-friendly database searchable by author, title, subject, ISBN number, keyword and publisher, etc.

Business Periodicals Collection
A comprehensive database containing over 500 full text titles covering management, economics, finance, accounting and international business. Updated quarterly, complete back files are available from 1990.

General Periodicals Collection
Includes full text articles, reports and special issues from over 600 popular magazines. Also includes over 3000 text-searchable charts, tables and graphs.

MLA International Bibliography
Produced by the Modern Language Association of America, this database consists of bibliographic records of journal articles, books, dissertations, monographs, working papers, proceedings, covering over 4,000 journals and series in literature, language, linguistics, and folklore.

Books in Print
An online version of the highly regarded Books in Print, this product is an indispensable resource offering complete, unbiased bibliographic information on over 5 million in print, out of print and forthcoming books, audio, and video titles.

EBSCO
A powerful online reference system that offers a variety of full-text databases on almost all subjects covering sciences, social sciences and humanities. The database Academic Search Premier provides full text for nearly 4,700 publications, including full text for more than 3,600 peer-reviewed journals. Another full text database, Business Source Premier, provides full text for nearly 7800 scholarly journals including full text for more than 1,125 peer- reviewed business publications.

Factiva
Provides a single point of access to a deep archive of news and business information not available on the free web, from nearly 9,000 sources in 22 languages, including influential local, national and international newspapers, leading business magazines, trade publications, and newswires, including Dow Jones, Reuters Newswires and The Wall Street Journal. It also provides access to historical market data, interactive charting, financial statements, and company reports from D&B, and Investext.

Galenet Databases
Gale's Info Track One File provides instant, user-friendly access to more than 7,200 periodicals, including 3,700 full-text titles, and puts 21 million database records at users' fingertips with a single search inquiry. Gales Ready Reference Shelf incorporates 15 of Gale's most popular general reference databases, allowing users access to more than 320,000 entries offering facts about associations, research centers, publishers, publications (including newspapers, newsletters, periodicals, and directories), databases, television and radio stations. Biography Resource Center combines awardwinning biographies from respected Gale Group sources.

Lexis-Nexis
A full text database of current and historic federal legislation, bill tracking, bill texts, state legislation, case law, law reviews and over 6,000 full text news sources and periodicals including the New York Times, Washington Post and AP wires.

ProQuest Direct
A database of over 4,000 indexed titles and over 2,000 full text journals with images covering current news and events, fields of research, and corporate information.
