Informal Working Group

The advisory committee has created five informal working groups to look at issues on the agenda for the 2007 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-07). In preparation for WRC-07, each of the informal working groups is tasked to develop draft preliminary views and subsequent draft proposals that are to be presented to the full advisory committee for approval. The various conference agenda items have been initially assigned to the informal working groups as follows:

Informal Working Group 1 (IWG-1) has been tasked to consider issues related to the Terrestrial and Space Science Services under WRC-07 Agenda Items 1.2, 1.3, 1.5 1.14, 1.16 and 1.20.

Informal Working Group 2 (IWG-2) will be addressing issues involving the Satellite Services including those related to High Altitude Platform Stations (HAPS) associated with WRC-07 Agenda Items 1.6 (Resolution 415), 1.7, 1.8, 1.17, 1.18, 1.19 and 1.21.

Informal Working Group 3 (IWG-3) will be considering international mobile telephone (IMT-2000) and 2.5 GHz sharing issues with respect to WRC-07 Agenda Items 1.4 and 1.9, respectively.

Informal Working Group 4 (IWG-4) will be looking at issues concerning the Broadcasting and Amateur Services relative to WRC-07 Agenda Items 1.6 (Resolution 414), 1.11, 1.13, 1.15, and 7.1 (Recommendation 952).

Informal Working Group 5 (IWG-5) will be examining regulatory issues related to WRC-07 Agenda Items 1.1, 1.10, 1.12, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7.1.

All of the informal working groups will also examine matters under WRC-07 Agenda Items 4 and 7.2 to the extent that they fall within the scope of their assigned tasks
