Subject: Proposal concerning IGU product files of latest update

Dear Gerd, dear IGS CB colleagues,

In my opinion, it would make sense to offer product files of the latest
ultra-rapid update (in addition) under time-invariant file names, or
addresses:

   igu.erp.Z
   igu.sp3.Z
   igu.sp3c.Z
   igu.sum.Z

99% of all IGU users (among them, e.g., swisstopo) are just interested
in the latest update (and they would like to keep their file download
scripts as simple as possible).

Following this proposal, the user could, if desired, directly download

ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product/igu.erp.Z
ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product/igu.sp3.Z
ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product/igu.sp3c.Z
ftp://igscb.jpl.nasa.gov/igscb/product/igu.sum.Z

or

ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/gps/products/igu.erp.Z
ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/gps/products/igu.sp3.Z
ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/gps/products/igu.sp3c.Z
ftp://cddisa.gsfc.nasa.gov/pub/gps/products/igu.sum.Z

or

ftp://ftp.gfz-potsdam.de/pub/igsacc/product/ultra/igu.erp.Z
ftp://ftp.gfz-potsdam.de/pub/igsacc/product/ultra/igu.sp3.Z
ftp://ftp.gfz-potsdam.de/pub/igsacc/product/ultra/igu.sp3c.Z
ftp://ftp.gfz-potsdam.de/pub/igsacc/product/ultra/igu.sum.Z

to get the current IGU information for NRT analysis (without dealing
with specific update rates and times, respectively, and without
considering older product file names for backup).

A corresponding implementation at IGS ACC, CDDIS, IGS CB should be very
simple.

At CODE, we already have a similar user-friendly solution:

http://www.aiub.unibe.ch/download/CODE/COD.EPH_U
http://www.aiub.unibe.ch/download/CODE/COD.ERP_U
http://www.aiub.unibe.ch/download/CODE/COD.SUM_U

Best regards,

Stefan Schaer
