Greetings AMSers:

Postponement is getting to be a regular feature of our meeting
irregularity. This month we need to push back our meeting one week to
July 25 to accomodate speaker conflicts. So I've sheduled us for
Barley's Taproom <http://www.barleystaproom.com/knoxville/> at 6:15 p.m.
in the Old City. If you need a map or directions, check here
<http://maps.google.com/maps?li=bwp&q=200+E+JACKSON+AVE,+KNOXVILLE,+TN+37915>.

After dinner, we will move to our regular spot at the UT Ag. Eng.
Building (unless Joanne says we can't have the room) to hear our
tag-team speakers. Here's the skinny on the talk and directions to the
Ag. Eng. Building. See you there!
------------------------------------------------------------------------

*The Latest on Global Warming: Hot Air and Cold Facts.*

/T.J. Blasing, Oak Ridge National Laboratory and/
/Kim Hand, Georgia Institute of Technology/

TJ and his summer student, Kim Hand, will give and updata of what is
happening with their research on global warming and the global carbon
cycle. Come and learn how greenhouse gases can cool the atmosphere, how
opening bottles of vintage wine is useful in carbon-cycle research and
and other amazing things you may not know.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Directions to Room 166 of the Ag. Engineering Building are:*

On Neyland Drive along the Tennessee River (if traveling south from
Kingston Pike), go under the Alcoa Highway bridge and turn left on Joe
Johnson Drive (the 2nd stoplight after the bridge).

Go north on Joe Johnson Drive to Chapman Drive (the second street up
from the stoplight). The Ag. Engr. Bldg. will be a long building on the
northwest side of the corner of Joe Johnson Dr. and Chapman Dr.

Turn left on Chapman Dr. and go up the hill past the Ag. Engr. Bldg. and
turn right into Staff Parking Lot #60. This is where you can park.

As you walk back down the hill to the Ag. Engr. Bldg, there will be an
obvious entrance with Room 166 one of the first rooms you encounter from
the entrance.
